The Space

Water’s Edge at Tart Farms started as a working hay farm, and the Tart family decided to turn part of it into a wedding venue out of their own love of sharing the property with couples and families. Once they made that decision, the two barns and the surrounding landscaping went up within a year, converting an open hay field into a full event property built specifically for weddings rather than adapted from something else.

Each of the two barns runs 3,500 square feet, with timber accents, tall ceilings, and large windows that bring in natural light, and both are climate controlled with heat and air conditioning built in, not a rented unit trucked in for the day. Upstairs in each barn sits a bridal or groom suite, so the wedding party can get ready on site in real comfort rather than driving in already dressed.

Capacity & Layout

The property holds 200 guests total, a number that works well for a mid-size wedding with room to spare, and having two separate barns rather than one large hall gives a couple options: a ceremony in one space and a reception in the other, or one barn dressed for dinner while the second serves as a lounge or bar area. Both barns provide their own upstairs suite, so the two wedding parties never have to share a single prep room.

Outdoors, the ceremony lawn overlooks the property’s 7-acre pond, set within the larger 23-acre working farm, giving a couple a natural backdrop without any added decor. Tables and chairs are provided by the venue as part of the package, along with setup and cleanup included in the site fee, which takes two of the more tedious rental logistics off a couple’s list before the date even arrives.
