The Space
A building that has gone through two names before this one, first Noah’s Event Venue, then Crystal Ballroom Charlotte, now stands as The Yorkmont, and each version has layered a European-inspired look onto the same 7,820 square feet of Class A event space. Guests arrive through a red-carpet entrance set beneath a Tuscany-style brick facade, which sets an intentionally dressed-up tone before anyone even reaches the ballroom doors.
A glass architectural element works alongside the European-styled grounds, and the property overlooks a man-made lake that shows up in a lot of the outdoor photography here. Outside, a courtyard centers on a sculptural marble fountain and a fireplace, giving the venue a second distinct backdrop beyond the ballroom itself, one that reads as formal garden rather than a generic patio tacked onto the side of the building.
Capacity & Layout
Seating tops out at over 150 guests in the ballroom, which sets The Yorkmont up as a mid-sized venue best suited to a guest list that is substantial but not sprawling. Couples get a choice of ceremony sites too: the ballroom itself, The Vow Gallery, which is built specifically for intimate, cinematic ceremonies, or an outdoor ceremony space, so the room a couple says their vows in does not have to be the same room where dinner is served.
An outdoor tented ceremony option covers the one real risk of an outside vow exchange, meaning a couple is not stuck choosing between an outdoor setting and a rain backup plan that forces the whole day indoors. With the ballroom, The Vow Gallery, the courtyard, and an outdoor sanctuary all available, the venue effectively gives a couple four distinct spaces to divide across ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception rather than running every part of the day through one room.
Amenities
A prep kitchen with refrigeration is built into the 7,820 square feet, which supports the on-site catering option, and the venue also runs an open vendor policy, so a couple who wants to bring in an outside caterer instead is not locked out of that choice. A full-service bar staffed by seasonal bartenders handles drink service, meaning that piece of the reception does not need to be sourced separately.
A getting-ready space, referred to on site as the Brideroom, gives the bridal party a private room to dress and prep before the ceremony rather than arriving fully ready. There is no hotel on the property itself, but a Hilton sits directly behind the venue, which is a genuinely convenient option for out-of-town guests or a wedding party that wants to walk rather than drive to their rooms after the reception ends. Parking is available on site as well.
Location & Getting There
The Yorkmont sits close to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which makes it a workable choice for a wedding pulling in guests from outside the region, since a short drive is all that separates the terminal from the venue. That proximity also means a couple is not asking out-of-town family to add an hour of driving onto an already long travel day just to reach the ceremony.
We have worked a reception in this ballroom before, and the venue’s mix of spaces changes how a DJ sets up depending on which room is booked: the enclosed ballroom holds sound in and lets it fill the dance floor, while the outdoor sanctuary and courtyard call for a setup built to project across open air rather than bounce off walls. Knowing which space is in play ahead of time is what keeps the music sounding right in either setting.
