The Space

The Venues at Langtree sits on 16 acres about 33 minutes north of Charlotte, built around five distinct structures rather than one ballroom: The Mott House, a home dating to 1852, along with The Pavilion, The Pergola, The Boulder Room and The Barn. New owners took over in April 2021 and have spent time researching the land’s history, which traces back to the late 1700s, so the estate carries real age alongside its event infrastructure.

With over 26,000 square feet of indoor meeting space spread across those five buildings, a couple is not locked into one look for the whole day. A ceremony can happen in one setting, cocktail hour in another, and the reception in the 6,000 square foot Pavilion, which comes fully equipped with audiovisual, restrooms and its own catering kitchen, meaning the reception space is built to run as a self-contained event hall.

Capacity & Layout

The property is built to handle events from small gatherings up to more than 300 guests, and having five separate buildings on 16 acres is what makes that range possible. Smaller weddings can use one or two of the structures intimately, while a 300-plus guest wedding can spread ceremony, cocktail hour and reception across different buildings so no single room ever feels overloaded by the day’s full guest list.

The Pavilion is the workhorse reception space at 6,000 square feet with its audiovisual setup and catering kitchen already in place, which simplifies both food service and sound for a DJ working the room. Because the property sits 1 mile off Interstate 77 at Exit 31, load-in for a DJ or band is a short, direct drive rather than a haul down a long gravel road to reach the reception building.

Amenities

Bouk Catering is the property’s exclusive catering partner, bringing 30 years of experience to every event booked here, so couples are not vetting outside caterers or coordinating a patchwork kitchen setup. Peak season runs March through June and September through December, the stretch when the grounds and gardens are typically at their best for the outdoor portions of the day.

An onsite trolley can shuttle guests to and from area hotels less than a mile from the property, which takes pressure off parking and rideshare logistics for a wedding with a lot of out-of-town guests. Between the trolley, the on-property catering, and five buildings that can each host a different phase of the day, the amenities are built around keeping guests on site rather than shuttling them elsewhere all evening.

Location & Getting There

Being 33 minutes north of Charlotte and just a mile off I-77 at Exit 31 means Langtree is genuinely easy to find for guests flying into Charlotte or driving up from the city, without feeling like a Charlotte venue at all. The 16-acre footprint gives it the space and quiet of a rural property while keeping travel time short for most of the wedding party arriving from town.

The Mott House, the oldest of the five buildings at 1852, anchors the property’s sense of place and is often where couples base photos or a smaller portion of the day, while The Barn and The Pavilion carry more of the reception load. With the Pavilion’s AV already built in and its catering kitchen separate from the event space, a DJ setting up there is working in a room designed for amplified sound rather than adapting a space built for another purpose.
