The Space
Tom and Jean Hauser bought this land in the early 1960s and ran it as a livestock, tobacco, and row crop farm, and the property stayed in the Hauser family when Pat Hauser and his wife Suzie took it over in 2005. That transition brought a major restoration, land clearing, new pastures, conservation easements, ponds, roads, and fencing, turning a working farm into the 100-acre event property it is today, overlooking the Yadkin River in Davie County.
The Barn is the centerpiece: an 8,500 square foot timber frame building with large sliding doors and cobblestone floors, built to feel like a genuine farm structure rather than a themed replica. The Bridal Suite sits inside the Living Quarters of the Stable, with a private bath, air conditioning, and country chic decor, giving the wedding party its own comfortable space separate from the barn itself while getting ready.
Capacity & Layout
The venue holds a maximum capacity of 250 guests, sized for a mid-to-large wedding without stretching the barn or the farm grounds thin. With three named event spaces, the Barn, the Farm, and the Bridal Suite, a couple can spread the day’s functions across distinct areas: getting ready in the suite, a ceremony out on the farm, and a reception under the barn’s timber frame roof.
The Farm’s outdoor layout includes two ponds, piers, rolling hills, and natural treelines, giving couples several real options for where a ceremony happens rather than a single fixed spot. A large tent can be brought in to cover a ceremony or cocktail hour, which matters on a 100-acre property where weather can turn an open-air plan into a covered one without losing the outdoor setting entirely.
Amenities
Tables and chairs come included with floor length linens, which removes a significant rental line item from a couple’s budget and simplifies the reception layout planning considerably. The Bridal Suite’s private bath and air conditioning matter more than they might sound: a farm venue in North Carolina can run warm, and having a genuinely climate-controlled space to get ready in is a real amenity, not just a nice-to-have.
The property’s ponds and piers double as both ceremony backdrop and photo location, giving a wedding day built-in scenery without needing to travel off site for portraits. Because the Hausers have owned and worked this land for more than 40 years, the grounds carry the settled, established feel of a real farm, rolling hills and treelines included, rather than a property recently landscaped to look the part.
Location & Getting There
The Stable at Riverview sits roughly 90 minutes from Charlotte, Concord, Lake Norman, Mooresville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Wilkesboro, and Hickory, putting it within reach of guests coming from several different directions across the state. That distance also means the venue sits well outside any city center, in Davie County farmland overlooking the Yadkin River, so guests should plan for a genuine drive into the country rather than a quick trip across town.
The Barn’s cobblestone floors and timber frame construction create a solid, resonant indoor space for a reception, while the sliding doors let sound spill naturally out toward the farm’s ponds and hills if a couple wants the reception to feel connected to the grounds outside. A DJ setup inside the Barn benefits from that open timber structure, which tends to carry sound evenly across a room this size.
