The Space
This is a working farm first, more than 200 acres with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Sandifer family built the event venue on it rather than the other way around. John and Diane Sandifer, Sam and Bailee Sandifer, and Caleb and Kelly Geiger own and run the property together, and the family placed a replica Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt at the venue in tribute to a loving aunt, part of the Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail.
The main barn holds the ballroom at the center of the property, with a downstairs meeting room, a balcony, and four on-site bathrooms built into the same structure. The farm setting is not incidental here, it is the reason couples choose this venue over a built-from-scratch event hall, and the quilt on display is a reminder that this is still a family property being run by the people who built it, not a corporate event company.
Capacity & Layout
Indoor capacity for the main barn ballroom runs to 299 guests, which decides the floor plan for anything close to that size: this is a full-scale wedding venue, not an intimate-gathering space. Ceremonies can happen either in the main barn ballroom itself or outdoors on the lawn, so a couple gets a genuine choice rather than one fixed spot.
The bridal suite sits upstairs with four separate makeup stations, each with its own mirror and outlets, built for a full wedding party getting ready at once rather than one bride at a time. The groom’s suite is located in the main barn next to the ballroom itself, keeping both sides of the wedding party close to the room where the day actually happens rather than tucked away in a separate building across the property.
Amenities
Outdoor space adds up to 1,800 square feet of patio area plus a large covered porch, and a natural gas fire pit with tall heat lamps means the outdoor space stays usable into a cool evening rather than shutting down at sunset. A catering prep kitchen is on site, and clients are free to bring in the caterer of their choice rather than working from an approved list.
Every rental includes 150 chairs, 15 round tables, and 8 banquet tables, which covers the furniture for most weddings without a separate rental order. Between the fire pit, the covered porch, and the patio, the outdoor amenities are built for a couple who wants the reception to spill outside rather than stay contained to the barn, and the heat lamps in particular stretch that outdoor season further into fall than most farm venues can manage.
Location & Getting There
The Ridge at Summit Farms sits in Westminster, South Carolina, on more than 200 acres, with on-site parking for guests arriving by car. The Blue Ridge Mountain views from the property are a defining feature for couples choosing a farm setting over a downtown venue.
Because the ballroom is a barn structure with a balcony above and a downstairs meeting room built into the same building, and the ceremony can move outdoors to the lawn, a DJ setup needs to handle a wood-framed indoor room that behaves differently from the open lawn just outside its doors.
