The Space

The Powell Home dates to 1855 and still has its original hardwood floors, while the barn beside it went up in the 1920s to house horses and milk cows, its main structure standing 45 feet at the peak. A 1967 addition added a milkhouse and a maternity pen with a straw mow. The farm began hosting weddings in 2017, so the buildings a couple tours today have been working structures far longer than they have been an event venue.

Comeback Farms sits on more than 500 acres of cropland, creekside woodland, and open pasture, and the Powell Home itself serves as bridal party accommodations with a back porch and front steps that double as a ceremony backdrop. A separate Cabin offers sleeping space for part of the wedding party. The scale of the working farm around the buildings is part of what a couple is actually booking, not just the barn and house themselves.

Capacity & Layout

The barn’s reception area runs 6,400 square feet and seats up to 300 guests, a size that comfortably holds a large wedding with a full dance floor and band or DJ setup without crowding the tables. The venue supplies 35 round 60-inch tables, 14 rectangle tables, a dessert table, two 4-foot farm tables, and 300 chivari chairs, which covers seating for the maximum guest count without a couple renting furniture separately.

Three outdoor ceremony locations give a couple options depending on the look they want: a lawn in front of the barn, a brick path under a wooden arbor in front of the house, or an area with a stone fireplace. If weather turns, the barn itself serves as indoor backup, so the ceremony has a real fallback rather than a tent thrown up at the last minute.

Amenities

The bar area comes with one moveable bar and ten wine barrels already in place, and the barn is lit with 100 feet of dimmable market lighting plus four dimmable chandeliers, so a couple is not starting from bare rafters. Twenty tons of heating and air conditioning keep the space comfortable regardless of the season, which matters in a barn this size holding 300 people on a summer or winter night.

A private groom’s suite gives the other half of the wedding party its own space to get ready, separate from the Powell Home. Parking is handled with a large lot that has extra capacity for oversized events and handicap accessibility built in. The venue does not provide catering itself, so a couple books that piece separately, but the moveable bar and wine barrels are already covered.

Location & Getting There

Comeback Farms sits outside Warsaw, North Carolina, on a stretch of working cropland and creekside woods that gives the property genuine rural distance from town, the kind of setting where the drive itself becomes part of the day for guests coming from further away. The 500-plus acres surrounding the barn and house mean neighbors and traffic are not part of the picture at all.

Inside, the barn’s 45-foot peak and open timber frame give a DJ real ceiling height to work with, so sound has room to rise and spread across 6,400 square feet rather than bouncing back down on the dance floor, while the barn’s role as ceremony backup means the same sound system may need to cover both a quiet processional and a full reception in one night.
