The Space

A 110,000-square-foot campus in Rocky Mount grew out of Word Tabernacle Church, a congregation of about 3,000 members led by Pastor James D Gailliard, and it now functions as a full community center. Classrooms, a fitness center, a preschool, and a media production center share the building with the event spaces, so a wedding here sits inside a facility built for a wide range of daily use rather than one designed only for receptions.

The centerpiece for weddings is the Center for Performing Arts and Worship, a 22,250-square-foot addition finished in December 2021 after the original 2020 timeline slipped due to pandemic construction delays. Two years earlier the campus had already added the Center for Capacity Building and the Center for Media and Broadcast, so the performing arts space was the last major piece to open, giving the venue its newest and most theater-like room.

The Center for Performing Arts and Worship seats more than 2,200 people, and the connected auditorium in the main building holds about 2,100 in stadium-style seating.
