The Space
The Barn is a converted stable, 3,200 square feet, fitted with 21 chandeliers and opening onto a 2,000-square-foot patio strung with Tuscan lights, at the end of Reems Creek Valley near Weaverville. It sits on 21 rolling acres that give the property real depth: fields, a pond, and enough open ground that a wedding does not feel boxed into one building all day.
The Lodge is a separate 5,000-square-foot building, originally a conference center, with 20-foot vaulted ceilings in its Great Room and a stone fireplace couples use as a ceremony backdrop. A 2,000-square-foot event tent, added in spring 2023, gives the property a third reception option and doubles as rain backup, so weather does not force a last-minute move indoors to whichever room happens to be free.
Capacity & Layout
The Lodge’s Great Room seats up to 150 comfortably, the event tent handles up to 198 guests for a seated dinner, and the property’s overall range runs anywhere from 50 to 500 guests depending on which combination of spaces a couple books, which is a wide enough spread to cover an intimate weekday elopement and a large Saturday wedding on the very same grounds.
Ceremony sites include the open fields, a 250-year-old oak tree, the Lodge in front of its stone fireplace, and the meditation pond area, so the choice ranges from fully outdoor and shaded by a tree that predates the country, to fully indoor and formal. Two dressing rooms sit upstairs in the Lodge with views of the mountain range and the meditation pond for wedding-morning photos.
Amenities
Beyond the main reception spaces, a boardroom seats 14 people at a conference table, a holdover from the Lodge’s original life as a conference center, which some couples use for a smaller rehearsal dinner, a vendor meeting, or a quiet spot for the wedding party rather than letting it sit unused during the event. Parking is available on site for the full guest list across whichever spaces get booked for the day.
Peak wedding season here runs May through June and September through November, the stretch when the 21 acres of rolling fields and the oak tree are at their most photogenic, and when the meditation pond and mountain views from the Lodge’s upstairs dressing rooms are least likely to be obscured by summer haze or bare winter trees.
Location & Getting There
The property sits about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville and just minutes from both the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Vance Birthplace, close enough for city guests and vendors to reach easily while the venue itself still feels genuinely out in the Reems Creek Valley countryside rather than tucked into a suburban event park near a highway exit.
Sound behaves differently across the three main spaces: the Barn’s converted-stable structure and chandeliers sit under a more traditional roofline suited to a full DJ setup, the Lodge’s 20-foot vaulted ceilings in the Great Room give a taller, more open room where sound has more air to fill, and the 2,000-square-foot event tent, being open-sided canvas, needs a setup built for outdoor-style sound dispersion regardless of the weather it is covering for.
