The Space
Trent Lassiter built this venue on land that has been his family’s farm near Selma for decades, seeing a need in the area for both an outdoor wedding site and a concert space, with construction starting in March 2013. The result is a working farm that also runs as a full event property: an indoor banquet hall with a reclaimed wood stage and dance floor, plus an outdoor amphitheater that hosts concerts, including the venue’s own annual Beach Fest with acts like Jim Quick & Coastline and The Embers.
Outdoors, a gazebo shaded by trees and fitted with a swing gives couples a real ceremony site away from the banquet hall, and a patio with string lights, a fire pit, fans, and heaters extends the usable hours of the outdoor space well past sunset. Because the venue only holds one event per night, whichever space a couple chooses, indoors, the amphitheater, or the gazebo grounds, is entirely theirs for the evening.
Capacity & Layout
The banquet hall holds more than 400 people, with tables and chairs provided as part of the rental, so a couple is not sourcing furniture separately for a room this size. Round and rectangular tables are both available with a choice of white chairs or cloth covers, giving enough flexibility to set a large seated dinner or a mix of round tables and a long head table depending on the guest list.
A large parking lot is built to handle sizable crowds, which fits both the venue’s wedding business and its history hosting concerts like Beach Fest, and the reclaimed wood stage and dance floor in the banquet hall are already in place for a band or DJ rather than something trucked in for the day. Dance floor and audiovisual equipment are provided, so a couple’s entertainment vendor is working with infrastructure the venue already has rather than starting from empty floor space.
Amenities
Dressing rooms are designed with the bride in mind, and a separate getting-ready room is available for bridesmaids and groomsmen, so both sides of the wedding party have their own space rather than sharing one room. A full service catering kitchen and a separate food service area make the venue caterer-friendly, and bar services are provided directly by the venue rather than requiring an outside bar vendor.
The outdoor patio’s string lights, fire pit, fans, and heaters mean cocktail hour or an after-dinner lounge can run comfortably outside well into a cooler evening, and the gazebo with its shading trees and swing gives photographers a distinct outdoor backdrop separate from both the banquet hall and the patio. Booking only one event per night means none of these spaces are shared or double-booked on the couple’s wedding day.
Location & Getting There
The Farm at 95 sits about 45 minutes southeast of Raleigh in Selma, just off I-95, which makes it a realistic drive for guests coming from around the Triangle without putting the wedding right in the middle of city traffic. The land itself has been a working family farm for decades before Trent Lassiter converted it into an event and concert venue, so the farmland setting is genuine rather than staged for the occasion.
We have worked a wedding at the Farm at 95, and the reclaimed wood stage inside the banquet hall gives a DJ a real, elevated setup rather than floor-level equipment competing with the dance floor for space. For a DJ, the choice between the enclosed banquet hall and the open-air amphitheater changes the whole approach: indoors, the wood stage and dance floor hold sound tightly, while an amphitheater set needs more coverage to reach guests spread across open farmland.
