The 3,400 square foot interior keeps its restored hardwood floors and vintage brick walls exposed, so the room reads as genuinely old rather than styled to look that way, and a hedged courtyard sits just outside, adjacent to Bicentennial Park.

Owner Emma Cheek planned her first wedding in 2016, and her business, Emazing Events, has since planned more than 200 events across multiple states in five years, so the day-to-day operation of the venue comes from someone who works events for a living rather than a landlord renting out a room. That background shows in small furnishing details, like the round and rectangular tables, classic white chairs, and white linens provided for every event.

Capacity & Layout

Seated capacity runs 150 to 180 and standing capacity tops out at 180, which places The Exchange solidly in intimate-wedding territory rather than a room built for a large guest list. That size works in the couple’s favor for a downtown venue: with a single-floor layout and no stairs, the space is wheelchair accessible throughout, so guests do not need to navigate a second level to move between ceremony and reception.

Two meeting rooms give a couple the option of a separate ceremony or lounge space apart from the main 3,400 square foot room, and the hedged courtyard beside Bicentennial Park is a natural spot for cocktail hour or an outdoor ceremony before the group moves inside. Round and rectangular tables are both available, so a planner can mix table shapes for a head table, dance floor sightlines, or a more casual lounge layout.

Amenities

Classic white chairs and white linens are provided for every event, along with round and rectangular tables, so a couple booking on the lower end of the venue’s $150 to $2,500 wedding pricing range still gets a fully furnished room rather than a bare shell. Alcohol is allowed, and both on-site catering and outside caterers are permitted, giving a couple room to choose a caterer they already trust.
