The Space
Restoration work in the 1970s turned this 1820 home into the property couples book today. Judy and Marshalle Lewis, the longtime owners, poured years into bringing the mansion back before it eventually passed to The Cornealius Properties family and opened as a wedding venue. Inside, a grand foyer with a curved staircase leads into hardwood-floored rooms furnished with antiques, including four large downstairs rooms set up for cocktail hour.
The booking extends well past the main house: a pavilion with a large outdoor fireplace, a chapel, gardens, and Heritage Hall, the dedicated reception space, are all included. Heritage Hall itself runs 3,400 square feet of heated and cooled space under cathedral ceilings, hung with large gold chandeliers, a different feel entirely from the antique-furnished rooms in the main house.
Capacity & Layout
The home sleeps 12 people overnight across four upstairs bedrooms, two with two beds each and two with a single bed each, alongside three full bathrooms and one half bath. For a couple who want the wedding party or close family staying on-site the night before and after the wedding, that overnight capacity turns the venue into a home base for the whole weekend rather than a single-day rental. Three full bathrooms and a half bath spread across the home also keep a crowded wedding morning from bottlenecking around one shared sink when twelve overnight guests and a bridal party are all getting ready at once.
Heritage Hall’s 3,400 square feet comes with real furniture behind the square footage: 20 eight-foot folding tables, 15 forty-eight-inch round tables, and 200 gold chairs are all included, which covers most of a guest list’s seating without a separate rental order. The pavilion adds room for 10 cocktail tables outdoors ahead of the reception.
Amenities
Two bars are included, one for cocktail hour and one for the reception itself, so the bar setup does not need to be broken down and moved between the two parts of the evening. The on-site chapel handles the ceremony, and two private bridal suites with natural light give the bride and her party a dedicated space that does not double as a hallway.
The Grooms Room is its own draw: a converted vintage gas station with the original gas pumps still visible inside, a genuinely distinct space rather than a spare bedroom repurposed for the day. Downstairs, the four antique-furnished rooms in the main house handle cocktail hour, and a 900-square-foot covered patio adds further outdoor space under cover.
Location & Getting There
The property sits on Old Smithfield Road outside Princeton, in open countryside, and is located three miles further down the same road from the Birdsong Chapel property, a helpful marker for guests, vendors, or photographers already familiar with that sister venue in the area. The venue had already hosted real weddings before a 2024 styled photo shoot introduced it to a wider audience, so what a couple sees in photos today reflects actual weddings that happened here first, not a staged debut.
Heritage Hall’s cathedral ceiling and hard surfaces underneath those gold chandeliers give a DJ setup a big, open room to fill with sound, while the covered pavilion and patio outside stay more open-air, so a setup built for Heritage Hall’s reception does not carry the same way if moved out to the pavilion for cocktail hour.
