The Space
For decades this barn held hay and tools, not weddings. Built in the 1930s on what has been a family farm for close to a century, it was restored once in the 1970s but used only for storage, rarely even unlocked. In 2013 the family moved it to its current spot on the property and restored it a second time, this time with celebrations in mind rather than equipment storage.
That second restoration kept the original timbers throughout while opening the barn up, adding easy access to the loft and a comfortable seating area inside that the storage-era barn never had. The barn now sits at the back of an open field, a placement chosen deliberately: with no structures crowding the sightline, the field gives an unobstructed view of the sky once the sun goes down.
Capacity & Layout
The venue accommodates up to 100 guests for both ceremony and reception, a number that keeps the barn feeling full and lively rather than sparse, and that comfortably fits an intimate wedding without pushing the limits of the original structure. Because ceremony and reception both happen in the same footprint, couples get to plan a single flow rather than shuttling guests between separate sites.
Indoors, the loft access and open timber framing give the room some visual height without abandoning the barn’s original proportions, while the 30-foot patio off the rear entrance functions as a natural second room for cocktail hour or an overflow gathering space. That patio, with its wood burning fireplace, extends the usable footprint well past the barn’s four walls, especially once temperatures drop in the evening.
Amenities
The rear patio’s wood burning fireplace is the standout built-in feature here: at 30 feet across, it is large enough to anchor a cocktail hour or late-evening gathering, and it means the property doesn’t go cold once the sun sets the way an open field alone would. Paired with the barn’s restored interior seating, the property offers a genuine indoor-outdoor pairing rather than one space doing all the work.
Because the barn sits in the back of an open field, the property gives couples a clear run of sky for evening portraits or a starlit exit, something a more built-up venue can’t offer. The loft, opened up during the 2013 restoration, adds a second vantage point inside the barn itself, useful for photos looking down over the room or simply as a spot for guests to gather away from the main floor.
Location & Getting There
The farm has been in the same family for close to a century, and that continuity shows in how the property is laid out: the open field, the relocated barn, and the patio all sit as part of one working farm rather than a purpose-built event campus. Guests arriving should expect a rural setting, with the barn positioned toward the back of the land rather than right off the entrance.
We have worked this room, and the layout plays straightforward for sound: the barn’s restored timber frame and loft create a contained, warm interior well suited to a DJ setup near the dance floor, while the patio out back, being open air with its fireplace as a focal point, handles cocktail-hour music at a lower, more conversational volume before the crowd moves back inside for the reception.
