The Space
The Barn at 400 Saint Andrews started life in 1974 as the Beef Barn, a fine dining restaurant that became downtown Greenville’s go-to spot for special occasions for decades before the building was converted into a dedicated event venue. That restaurant history is still visible in the bones of the place: a brick-paved hall with chandeliers and exposed wooden beams that reads more like a converted dining room than a barn built from scratch for weddings.
The ceremony space is that brick-paved hall, and the reception moves next door into a spacious ballroom with wood floors, or outside under a lighted tent when a couple wants the event partly in the open air. Upstairs, there is additional space set aside for more intimate gatherings or for guests to lounge in before the main event starts, adding a layer the ground-floor rooms alone would not have, and a useful spot for a smaller pre-ceremony gathering while the main hall is finished being set.
Capacity & Layout
The facility holds up to 425 guests across 8,900 square feet of meeting space, sizing it for a large wedding without the couple needing to choose between an indoor and outdoor venue, since both are part of the same booking. The ceremony hall and reception ballroom sit adjacent to each other, so guests can move between the two without a long walk or a shuttle between locations.
The outdoor tent option adds a third configuration on top of the two indoor rooms, useful for a couple who wants part of the day under open sky without giving up the option to move everything inside if the weather turns. Modern farmhouse decor runs through both the indoor and outdoor spaces, keeping the look consistent whichever combination a couple ends up using, so the transition from ceremony hall to ballroom to tent never feels like three different venues stitched together.
Amenities
In-house catering is available with a modern American Fusion menu, so food does not need to be sourced from an outside vendor. Free WiFi is available throughout, useful for anything from a photo booth requiring a connection to guests who want to stream the ceremony for family who could not travel.
Parking is generous for a downtown property, with 95 paved spaces including two accessible spots close to the entrance, and the venue is wheelchair accessible throughout. That combination of scale and accessibility matters at a venue built to hold 425 people, where parking alone can become a bottleneck if it is not planned for properly.
Location & Getting There
The venue sits in the heart of Greenville’s Convention District, just off Greenville Boulevard, putting it close to downtown hotels and restaurants that out-of-town guests would use for the rest of the weekend. That central location is part of what made the original Beef Barn a fixture in the city for so long before the conversion to an event venue.
We have worked this room, and the split between the brick-paved ceremony hall and the wood-floored ballroom changes how a DJ setup reads: the brick and exposed beams in the ceremony space keep sound tighter and more direct, while the wood-floored ballroom next door opens things up for a fuller reception sound once the tables are cleared for dancing.
