The Space
Larry and Tammy Honeycutt bought this property in 1994 and spent more than two years renovating it before it ever hosted an event. The venue’s first wedding happened almost by accident in 2001, when Tammy’s sister got married there, and that one wedding is what turned a private renovation project into the working venue it is today, now sitting on 22 acres of landscaped grounds in Cabarrus County.
The reception space is Scarlett Hall, an indoor ballroom, backed up by a spacious framed outdoor tent for events that want more room or a more open-air feel. A rental cottage joined the property in 2015 and gives the venue an overnight option it did not originally have, so what began as a two-year renovation has kept growing in stages since that first accidental wedding.
Capacity & Layout
Saratoga Springs seats up to 250 guests, a number large enough for a big traditional wedding with a full band or DJ setup, a dance floor, and a head table without the room feeling packed. The ceremony happens on an outdoor lawn with a gazebo, separate from the reception spaces, so guests move from an open-air vows setting into either Scarlett Hall or the tent for the party.
Having both an indoor ballroom and a framed outdoor tent means the layout is not locked to one plan: a couple can run the reception fully indoors, fully under the tent, or split cocktail hour and dinner between the two. The venue is handicap accessible, and parking includes a bridge over a creek to a secondary lot, worth knowing ahead of time for guests who may need a shorter walk.
Amenities
Tables, chairs, and linens come with the venue, which cuts a real line item out of the rental budget compared to a bare hall that requires renting every piece of furniture separately. Lighting and sound services are also available on site, and the venue handles set-up and cleanup, so a couple is not arriving early to arrange tables or staying late to break the room down.
A bridal suite gives the wedding party somewhere to get ready on-site, and catering services are available through the venue rather than requiring an outside vendor search. The framed outdoor tent doubles as weather insurance for anyone planning an outdoor-leaning reception, since it gives real cover without giving up the open-air feel the grounds are known for, and the rental cottage added in 2015 means the wedding party can extend the celebration into an overnight stay rather than everyone driving home the same night.
Location & Getting There
The venue sits about 30 minutes from both Charlotte and Concord, including Charlotte Douglas International Airport, close enough for out-of-town guests to fly in without a long drive after landing. The 22 acres of landscaped grounds give the property a country setting despite that short drive from two cities, so guests get a real change of scenery without losing easy access.
We have worked a wedding at Saratoga Springs, and the two reception spaces sound noticeably different from behind the booth: Scarlett Hall is a fully enclosed indoor ballroom that holds sound tightly for a controlled dance floor, while the framed outdoor tent is open at the sides, so music carries out across the landscaped grounds and needs a slightly different setup to fill the space evenly.
