The Space
Three siblings who grew up in the Carolinas bought this 31-acre vineyard in Pinnacle from owners who had spent years selling their grapes to other wineries in the area. Rather than start over, they kept the vines producing and built a wedding operation around them. One owner taught school before this, the other spent a career at IBM living all over the world, and the winemaking equipment itself came from the old Mt. Vale winery in Galax, so the property carries more than one history layered into it.
The result is a working estate rather than a built-for-purpose hall. A reception space with floor-to-ceiling windows looks out over the vines toward Pilot Mountain, and a separate tasting room still does what it was built to do. Outside, a ceremony lawn is framed by the mountain, with a gazebo and a water fountain nearby. Grapevines running in rows give photographers something real to work with, not a planted backdrop.
Capacity & Layout
Seating runs from 30 to 130 guests, which puts this venue solidly in the small-to-medium range: a backyard-style wedding with room to spare, not a ballroom that swallows a small guest list. Couples planning something intimate can use the lawn and gazebo alone, while a full 130-person group will use the reception hall for dinner and dancing after the lawn ceremony, with the tasting room available as overflow or a quieter cocktail space.
Because the ceremony site and the reception hall sit apart from each other on the property, there is a real cocktail-hour window while chairs are reset and the hall is prepared, which is worth building into the day-of timeline. The reception hall’s glass wall means the room reads bright well past sunset, and it also means the space stays visually connected to the vineyard even once guests move indoors for dinner.
Amenities
The outdoor features are simple and well suited to what a Carolina vineyard wedding actually needs: a gazebo for the ceremony backdrop, a water fountain nearby, and a fire pit for guests to gather around once the dancing winds down. None of it is dressed up as something it is not, it is a working vineyard that happens to also host weddings, and that honesty comes through in the grounds.
An on-site Airbnb suite on the lower level of the estate house sleeps two, with a king bed and its own bathroom, which gives a couple a place to stay the night of the wedding without leaving the property or driving anywhere after the last dance. It is a small detail but a genuinely useful one for a rural venue where the nearest hotel is not around the corner.
Location & Getting There
Pinnacle sits in rolling hill country with Pilot Mountain as the visual anchor for the whole property, which means guests are driving out into open country rather than staying in a city grid. That drive is part of the experience here: the vineyard rows appear well before the buildings do, and the mountain stays in view through most of the ceremony.
For sound, the split between an open-air lawn ceremony and an enclosed reception hall with a full glass wall matters. Outdoors on the lawn, speakers need to work against wind and open space with nothing to bounce sound back, while the reception hall’s hard glass surface and open sightline to the vineyard call for careful speaker placement so music fills the room evenly without turning harsh off the windows.
