The Space
Parque Ridley Creek is an event venue within Ridley Creek State Park, featuring Hunting Hill Mansion, an English Tudor-style mansion built in 1915 around a stone farmhouse dating to 1789. The mansion was built by the Jeffords family and features architecture reminiscent of English-Tudor castles with dark oak walls, limestone, and ornamental plasterwork. The main reception space is a ballroom with hardwood floors, an ornate plastered ceiling, and lead-paned windows overlooking the grounds.
The 2,606-acre state park surrounds the venue, and the formal gardens and grounds were landscaped in 1924 by the Olmsted Brothers, the landscape architecture firm that also designed Central Park. The grounds include stone walls, patios, a reflecting pond, flagstone areas, and manicured lawns. A bridal suite on the far side of the mansion includes a private balcony with views of the park’s trees and hillsides. Three ceremony spots are available near the mansion in garden and lawn settings.
Capacity & Layout
The maximum seated capacity is 150 guests, making this an intimate gathering rather than a large reception. The mansion’s ballroom is the primary reception space, with cocktail areas including flagstone patios, a grand staircase, foyer, and parlor. The multiple outdoor ceremony options and the bridal suite provide flexibility in how you use the building and grounds on your wedding day.
Peachtree Catering has managed events at Parque since 2016 and serves as the exclusive in-house catering provider. This means you work directly with their team on menu planning and service, and they understand the unique logistics of the venue and grounds. The catering partnership also means food preparation happens with the mansion’s kitchens and infrastructure in mind.
Amenities
The Olmsted Brothers-designed formal gardens are the standout feature, these award-winning gardens provide ceremony backdrops and photo opportunities that rival anywhere in the region. The stone walls, reflecting pond, and mature trees create an environment that looks as though it was designed specifically for events, which, in fact, it was. The bridal suite with private balcony gives you a private space for getting ready without being isolated from the reception.
The extensive grounds mean you’re not confined to indoor space, cocktails can happen on patios, photographs can be taken throughout the gardens, and the ceremony can happen in multiple settings depending on weather and preference. The flagstone patios and outdoor areas are built into the grounds rather than temporary rentals, making everything feel permanent and intentional.
Location & Getting There
Parque Ridley Creek is located in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, in the Delaware County woodlands about 45 minutes from Philadelphia and 30 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport. The state park setting means you’re surrounded by mature forest and old-growth woodland, Ridley Creek State Park was added to the National Old-Growth Forest Network in 2024 as Pennsylvania’s 32nd old-growth woodland. Despite the rural feel, urban centers are accessible for guests traveling from the Philadelphia region or beyond.
The ballroom features hard wooden floors and ornate ceilings with solid walls and lead-paned windows, creating a room where sound carries well and distributes evenly without excessive echo. The ceiling height is generous, providing headroom for audio equipment, and the ballroom’s dimensions support a DJ setup that reaches all guests without needing auxiliary speakers or complex audio routing.
