Water surrounds this estate on all sides, west of Long Beach Island in Manahawkin, with panoramic views of Barnegat Bay from the property itself. That waterfront setting runs through every part of the venue, from the ceremony space to the bridal suite, rather than being a backdrop glimpsed from one window.

The Boathouse Chapel serves as the ceremony backdrop, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the water and a natural-stone fireplace anchoring the room, a combination that puts the bay itself into the ceremony photos. An outdoor plaza inspired by Gothic architecture and a veranda with a glass door that opens fully both extend the property’s living space out toward the water. Our DJs have worked receptions here before, so the ballroom’s power layout and the transition point at the veranda door are already familiar going into a wedding on the water.

Capacity & Layout

The ballroom holds up to 250 guests and is finished with a Tiffany blue ceiling, a detail distinctive enough that couples who have toured it tend to remember it specifically. That capacity puts Mallard Island in range for a full-size wedding reception rather than an intimate gathering, with the ballroom as the anchor for dinner and dancing. A couple planning close to that 250-guest ceiling should expect the Tiffany blue ceiling and the room’s full footprint to be in view from nearly every seat.

The bridal penthouse takes up the entire fourth floor, 3,000 square feet, giving the wedding party a full floor to get ready in rather than a single room. The estate also offers overnight accommodations for up to 24 guests, meaning a portion of the wedding party or close family can stay on property through the weekend, rather than shuttling guests back and forth from an off-site hotel after the reception ends.

Amenities

The veranda’s glass door opens to create a seamless flow between the indoor ballroom and the outdoor plaza, letting a couple move guests outside for cocktail hour or fresh air without a hard break between indoor and outdoor space. That Gothic-inspired plaza gives the property a distinct architectural character outdoors, separate from the more classic ballroom interior.

With overnight accommodations built into the estate, a couple can plan a wedding weekend rather than a single-day event, housing up to 24 guests on site alongside the ceremony and reception spaces. Location & Getting There

Manahawkin sits just west of Long Beach Island, putting Mallard Island Estate close to the Jersey Shore without being on the barrier island itself, an easier drive and parking situation for guests than an LBI venue would offer. The water-on-all-sides setting still delivers the bay views a couple would associate with an island wedding.
