The Space

The Little Chapel at Haven Ridge began as the Bradford family’s private sanctuary, built up over nearly two decades before opening to outside events in October 2022. The 600-square-foot chapel itself was handcrafted by North Carolina artisans using materials with real age behind them: 500-year-old English bricks, a 150-year-old stained glass door, and 200-year-old clay monk roof tiles, so the building reads as genuinely old even though the venue itself is new.

Beyond the chapel, the 56.5-acre property includes a Victorian-inspired solarium, climate-controlled, 1,500 square feet, and standing 28.5 feet tall, along with a 7,000-square-foot courtyard positioned between the chapel and the solarium. A 2,000-square-foot chapel lawn provides an open-air ceremony option with a spring-fed lake as its backdrop, and the grounds also include a fire pit, a babbling creek, and a cascading waterfall, features that show up repeatedly in photos taken here.

Capacity & Layout

The chapel holds up to 90 guests for a ceremony, while the solarium can hold up to 125, making the solarium the better choice for a couple’s full guest list if they want everyone under one roof for both ceremony and reception. For couples planning an intimate wedding or elopement, which the venue is built around, the chapel’s smaller scale suits a guest list closer to family and close friends than a large formal wedding.

Because the courtyard sits centrally between the chapel and the solarium, it functions as the natural gathering space between a chapel ceremony and a solarium reception, giving guests somewhere to have cocktails while the room turns over. The chapel lawn offers a third option entirely, a fully open-air ceremony with the spring-fed lake as backdrop, for couples who want their vows outdoors rather than inside either structure.

The solarium is fully climate-controlled with HVAC heat and air, which matters for a North Carolina wedding in summer heat or winter cold, and the venue markets itself as a four-season property as a result. Accessibility features include a chapel ramp and restrooms at both the chapel and courtyard, with ground-level access to the courtyard and solarium, so guests with mobility needs are not confined to one area of the property.

The Bradford family lives on the property full time and operates Haven Ridge themselves, which tends to mean a more personal, hands-on relationship with a couple planning their day than a venue run by rotating outside staff. An on-site inn offers one or two night overnight stays as part of some packages, letting a wedding party or family stay through the weekend rather than driving in the day of.

Haven Ridge sits only 10 minutes from downtown Winston-Salem, 35 minutes from Greensboro, and about 75 minutes from Charlotte, which makes it genuinely convenient for a Triad-area guest list despite its rural, private feel once you are on the grounds. That combination, a working family estate minutes from a city, is part of what distinguishes it from venues that require a much longer drive to reach a similarly quiet, wooded setting.
