The Space

This is a 325 acre working farm outside Jobstown that has been in continuous use since the 1690s, when the Black family began building the fieldstone and clapboard farmhouse that still stands. The Breezeway Barn holds the reception at 3,000 square feet and can be fully enclosed, while the Stone Barn, a genuine 17th century structure, offers 2,000 square feet suited to cocktail hour or a ceremony under original stone walls rather than a modern tent.

Outdoors, a 70 acre ceremony lawn runs through tree-lined pastures with a wood arch and seating already in place, so the ceremony site is not a corner of a parking lot dressed up for the day, it is real farmland the Johnsons have preserved. The property was enrolled in the Burlington County Farmland Preservation Program in 1998, part of why the pastures and the 18th century stone barn built under General John Black in 1787 are still intact today.

Capacity & Layout

The Breezeway Barn seats up to 150 guests for dinner and entertainment, which sets the upper bound for a full sit-down wedding here, while the smaller Market Barn handles up to 65 for a more intimate private event. That range gives a couple two real options on the same property rather than one fixed number, useful if the guest list is still moving during planning.

Parking is available for 80 cars with a wheelchair accessible lot, and the property carries wheelchair accessible entrance, seating spaces, and restrooms throughout, which matters on a farm where uneven ground can otherwise be a real barrier. The Farm House Mansion serves as the bridal party’s preparation space, with lounges and dressing rooms across two floors, so getting ready happens on site rather than at an off-site hotel before the drive over.

Amenities

Both barns come with reclaimed wood bars built in, a 12 foot bar in the Breezeway Barn and a 10 foot bar in the Stone Barn, along with HVAC and ambient lighting already installed rather than trucked in for the day. That matters for budget: a couple is not renting a bare structure and then adding a bar, climate control, and lighting on top, those are already part of what the barns offer.

The barns are also built with band and DJ power in place, a detail that saves a real headache on site, since it means the electrical load for sound and lighting has already been planned for rather than improvised with extension cords across a barn floor. Between the Breezeway Barn, Stone Barn, Market Barn, and the 70 acre lawn, the farm gives a couple several distinct settings to split ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception across, rather than one room handling all three.

Location & Getting There

The farm sits on Monmouth Road in Springfield Township, part of the same family of properties as Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford, which the Johnsons have run since 1953. Eric and Peter Johnson purchased this second location in 2013 and opened it as a wedding and event venue in 2014, so the farm market and pick-your-own side of the business runs alongside the event side rather than the two being separate operations.

We have worked a wedding at this farm before, so we know the Breezeway Barn’s open-air design changes how sound behaves compared to the fully enclosed Stone Barn. Because the Breezeway Barn can be closed up or left open, a DJ setup there has to account for whichever configuration is chosen that day, while the Stone Barn’s older, more contained stone walls hold sound tighter and suit a smaller, quieter reception or a cocktail hour better than a full dance floor.
