The Space
Jiddi Space occupies part of the historic Heilig-Levine Complex in downtown Raleigh, a cluster of four buildings dating to the late 1800s that spent decades as working storage, first for carriages, later for furniture and other goods, before Empire Events converted the space into a private event and dining venue. That history shows up directly in the room: exposed brick and high ceilings are original to the building, not added for effect.
The venue splits into two connected settings, a fully enclosed indoor dining room and an open-air courtyard, both finished with market lighting that carries the same look across indoor and outdoor space. A wedding suite sits above the Gravy and Sitti restaurants that front the building, with views overlooking the courtyard below, giving the wedding party a private space to get ready without leaving the building.
Capacity & Layout
Jiddi Space seats 100 guests indoors alone, or 150 when the courtyard is combined with the indoor room, which gives couples a meaningful jump in capacity by opening up both spaces rather than choosing one or the other. Standing capacity reaches 225, a relevant number for a couple planning a cocktail style reception or a dance heavy night rather than a fully seated dinner.
The wedding suite above the restaurants includes a bridal room, a private restroom, and its own lounge and table seating, separate from the guest areas below, so the wedding party has a dedicated space through photos and the ceremony itself. Rental runs six hours as a base, with the option to upgrade to nine hours, worth deciding on early since it changes how much of the day the space is actually held for.
Amenities
Catering at Jiddi Space is exclusive to two in house restaurants, Sitti Authentic Lebanese and Gravy Italian American Kitchen, so couples are choosing a cuisine direction as part of choosing this venue rather than bringing in an outside caterer. A full bar operates in the courtyard, meaning drinks service is built into the outdoor space specifically rather than centralized in one bar location.
Lounge seating in the courtyard gives guests a casual gathering spot apart from the dining tables, useful for cocktail hour or a late night wind down after dinner and dancing wrap up indoors. Because the venue is a converted warehouse rather than a purpose built event hall, couples should expect character over blank flexibility, exposed brick and market lighting are part of the room, not optional decor.
Location & Getting There
The Heilig-Levine Complex sits in the middle of downtown Raleigh’s historic core, a cluster of four connected buildings rather than a standalone lot, with one of the fronting buildings dating to 1909 and originally home to a furniture store and dry goods store. That downtown setting means guests can walk between nearby parking, hotels, and the venue itself without needing a shuttle.
Indoors, the high ceilings and exposed brick of the dining room give a DJ a live, reflective room to manage, one where sound carries well but needs care to avoid overwhelming echo off the brick walls. Outdoors, the open-air courtyard has no roof cover, so a DJ setup there has to account for open sky and ambient street noise rather than the contained acoustics of the room next door.
