The Space
Local architect M.S. Davis designed and built the Manor House at Hudson Manor in 1916 for Charles T. Hudson and his wife, and the original 1916 blueprints are still displayed inside. Glenn and Melissa Cogliati bought the estate in 2004 and built it into an all-inclusive wedding venue, opening to the public that September, so what a couple tours today is a century-old home adapted specifically for weddings rather than converted after the fact.
The property spans 75 rolling acres, with manicured lawns, pastures, colorful gardens, a 5-acre spring-fed lake, and a Carriage House that once served as stables. A couple walking the grounds moves through working farmland turned wedding property, with the lake and gardens giving photographers real variety within a short walk of the Manor House itself.
Capacity & Layout
The Chapel seats up to 180 guests, is climate-controlled, over 2,000 square feet, and looks out over the lake, and it is available year-round at no additional fee as a ceremony backup, which removes one of the more stressful weather decisions couples usually have to make on their own. The Grand Ballroom seats the same 180 guests, with 5-foot crystal chandeliers, a 14-foot tray ceiling, ornate framed mirrors, and luxury plank flooring. A minimum of 25 guests keeps the venue realistic for smaller weddings too, rather than pricing every event as if it needs to fill the full room.
Ceremony options run from the indoor Chapel to the outdoor Columned Garden or the covered Veranda, and the reception moves into the Grand Ballroom with its attached covered Veranda, so a couple can plan an outdoor ceremony with confidence, knowing the Chapel is sitting there as a genuine, fully finished backup rather than a plain tent.
Amenities
Every package includes event planning, wedding direction, day-of coordination, linens, parking, setup, and cleanup, which covers most of the logistics a couple would otherwise be piecing together with separate vendors. Co-owner Glenn Cogliati serves as head chef and prepares all on-site catering himself, and oversized dressing rooms give the wedding party real space to get ready rather than a converted closet. Full bar service is available starting at $24 per person, including bartenders, house beer, wine, and specialty drinks, so a couple can build the bar into the same package rather than sourcing it separately.
The Covered Veranda includes fans and heaters, so outdoor cocktail hour or ceremony seating stays comfortable across seasons. The venue has won the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award every year from 2010 through 2018, holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating across 108 reviews, and has also picked up The Knot’s Best of Weddings honor, a track record built specifically on how weddings here actually go. The property is wheelchair accessible with handicap parking available as well.
Location & Getting There
Hudson Manor sits in Louisburg, roughly 25 minutes north of Wake Forest and 30 minutes from Triangle Town Center in Raleigh, close enough for Triangle guests to drive out for the day while still feeling like a countryside destination once they arrive. Raleigh-Durham International Airport is about 52 minutes away, a reasonable trip for out-of-town family flying in. Complimentary parking is available on the property.
We have worked a reception in the Grand Ballroom, and its 14-foot tray ceiling and hard plank flooring carry a dance floor well, while the attached covered Veranda gives a DJ the option to spill sound outdoors for cocktail hour without needing a second full setup.
