The Space

HQ & The Gallery began as an industrial building constructed in 1926, and artist and owner Dawn Sweitzer reimagined the property rather than starting from scratch, preserving the original exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, and period windows while adapting the buildings into a modern event venue. The result carries the texture of a working building repurposed by someone who clearly understood what was worth keeping and what needed to change.

The property actually splits into two distinct spaces: HQ, a 5,600 square foot main hall with a wood-barreled ceiling and exposed brick, and The Gallery, a smaller 1,900 square foot building with its own exposed brick and original windows. A couple gets two different rooms with two different characters on the same property, rather than one large hall doing double duty for both the ceremony and the party that follows it.

Capacity & Layout

HQ seats up to 100 guests, and The Gallery up to 75, with total property capacity reaching 150 when both are in use at once. That split matters for how a couple plans their day: The Gallery works well for a ceremony or an intimate reception, while HQ handles a larger seated dinner and dance floor, and a couple can use one, the other, or both depending on how big their guest list ends up.

Ceremonies typically happen in The Gallery or out in the gardens, with HQ serving as the reception space, so the day naturally moves the guest list from a smaller, quieter room into a bigger one built for dancing, rather than resetting the same room twice between ceremony and reception.

Amenities

A second-story Lounge functions as a private get-ready space with plush furnishings and its own private bar, giving the wedding party somewhere to retreat before or during the reception that is not visible to the rest of the guests. Valet parking is included, and an on-site prep kitchen means outside catering teams can work without hauling equipment through the event spaces themselves.

The property is wheelchair accessible, offers wireless internet throughout, and keeps an on-site attendant present during events, small details that matter once a couple is no longer thinking about logistics on their own wedding day. European-inspired gardens with a 30-foot sunken wood-burning firepit give guests an outdoor gathering spot for cocktail hour that is not just a courtyard tacked onto the buildings.

Location & Getting There

The venue sits in High Point, NC, with both indoor buildings and the outdoor garden space giving guests somewhere to be whether the plan is a full sit-down dinner or a more casual cocktail-style reception spread across the property. Having two separate buildings on one site also means a couple does not need to bus guests between locations to get the contrast between an intimate ceremony room and a larger reception hall.

We have worked an event in HQ, and the wood-barreled ceiling and exposed brick walls give the room a warmer, more contained sound than a bare hall, which lets a DJ balance a full dance floor without fighting hard, flat surfaces, while The Gallery’s smaller footprint and exposed brick suit a quieter ceremony sound setup.
