The Space

Set on eleven acres of hillside on Burkemont Mountain at 2,539 feet, Hidden Hill is a modern farmhouse barn built in 2018, between Asheville and Charlotte. The Parker family came to know the property when their daughter married here in 2020, and they bought it and turned it into a business in the years that followed, which gives the venue an unusual origin: it started as a place someone else fell in love with before it became a working wedding venue at all.

The barn itself runs 4,600 square feet with a 40-foot covered porch, and the interior is fully heated and air-conditioned, so the space performs as a real four-season room rather than a summer-only structure. A rock fireplace and antique lighting warm the two covered outdoor porches, and a bridal suite and a separate groom suite give both sides of the wedding party their own space to get ready without crossing paths before the ceremony.

Capacity & Layout

Hidden Hill seats up to 200 guests including the bridal party, which places it comfortably in the range for a mid-to-large wedding without pushing into ballroom territory. Ceremonies happen either on the open lawn or, if the weather turns, move to a large covered patio built specifically as a rain backup, so couples are not left improvising a plan on the morning of the wedding itself.

The 70-car parking lot is split between upper and lower areas, which matters for a hillside property where a single flat lot is not always possible; guests park across two zones rather than hunting for overflow space along a road. Between the barn, the two covered porches, and the outdoor ceremony sites, the layout gives a wedding several distinct zones to move through over the course of the day.

Amenities

Recent 2024 work added an extended patio, a sealcoated driveway, an underground drain system, and a new HVAC compressor, all upgrades that point to active, ongoing investment in the property rather than a venue coasting on its original 2018 build. Handicap parking and accessible restrooms are also in place, so guests who need step-free access are accounted for on a property that otherwise sits on hillside terrain.

The separate bridal and groom suites mean both getting-ready parties have private space on site, which cuts down on hotel shuttling and keeps photos and last-minute prep contained to the venue itself. Between the covered porches, the rock fireplace, and the antique lighting, there is a real outdoor living room built into the property, not just a barn with a parking lot attached to it.

Hidden Hill sits in Morganton, roughly an hour from both Charlotte Douglas and Asheville Regional airports, which makes it a reasonably workable drive for out-of-town guests flying in from either direction. The mountain setting itself, with views of Grandfather Mountain, Lake James, Mount Mitchell, and the Black Mountain Range from 2,539 feet up, is part of the draw and shapes where photos and the ceremony tend to happen on the property.
