The Space
Forever Home Farm centers on a farmhouse dating to the 1800s, the oldest documented home in Transylvania County, which Debi Fleming and her family restored from an abandoned heritage estate. The property sits on 15 acres in a valley shaped by the French Broad and Davidson rivers, and weddings have been held here since the fall of 2017, giving the venue a fairly short but well-established run under the same family’s care.
The pole barn, built by Debi’s grandson from refurbished 100-year-old wood salvaged from an Amish barn, is the reception space and holds a large wooden dance floor. An antique wooden backdrop made from old doors and 15 farmhouse tables built from the same reclaimed wood are part of the venue’s own furnishings, so the rustic character extends from the architecture down to the tables guests sit at, without a couple needing to source their own decor.
Capacity & Layout
Forever Home Farm seats up to 200 guests, with the ceremony typically held on a hilltop with mountain views and the reception moving down to the pole barn. That hilltop-to-barn flow gives a couple a natural change of scenery between the two parts of the day, and the roughly 15-acre property has room for both without feeling cramped or requiring guests to travel far between the two spots.
The farmhouse itself sleeps 9 to 10 people across 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, so the wedding party or close family can stay on site rather than driving in the morning of. A large fire pit sits about 100 feet from the barn, giving guests a gathering spot after the reception winds down, and both the main house and a guest house include pool access for anyone staying through the weekend.
Amenities
Bridal and groom’s dressing rooms are available on site, so getting ready happens at the venue rather than requiring an off-site hotel and a morning drive. Outside catering is allowed, which gives couples flexibility in choosing a caterer rather than working from a required vendor list, and a large parking area accommodates guest vehicles without requiring a shuttle.
The property includes an outdoor pool for guest use, a detail that fits the farm’s overall character as a working family property rather than a rented-out hall. Between the reclaimed-wood pole barn, the antique door backdrop, and the farmhouse tables, most of the venue’s furnishings carry the same 100-year-old wood, giving the whole property a consistent, unforced rustic look throughout the ceremony and reception.
Location & Getting There
Forever Home Farm sits about 30 minutes from Asheville and 10 minutes from DuPont State Park, close enough to those areas for weekend guests to combine the wedding with a longer stay in the mountains. Asheville Regional Airport is roughly 30 minutes away as well, keeping travel manageable for out-of-town family flying in for the weekend, and Brevard sits nearby for anyone who wants to explore before or after.
We worked a wedding here, and the layout splits sound needs cleanly in two: an open hilltop for the ceremony, where sound has to carry across open ground, and the reclaimed-wood pole barn for the reception, where the wood framing and dance floor give the room a warmer, more contained acoustic than open air allows.
