The conversion kept the bones of the building intact while turning the old showroom floor into a full-service restaurant and bar, so the space carries a bit of downtown Albemarle’s past along with its current menu.

Inside, the restaurant is built around roomy booths and a bar area with TVs, the kind of layout that reads as a neighborhood pub rather than a formal dining room. A patio extends the space outdoors, giving guests a second area to spread out before or after a meal, and the overall footprint favors conversation and easy movement over one big open floor, which suits a relaxed gathering more than a seated program with a head table.

Capacity & Layout

Five Points does not carry a published seated capacity because it operates as a working restaurant, not a dedicated event hall, so private use typically means reserving the bar area, a cluster of booths, or the patio rather than the entire building. Guest counts stay modest, since the booths and bar are fixed in place rather than movable banquet rounds, so a couple is working with the restaurant’s existing furniture instead of designing a floor plan from scratch.

For a rehearsal dinner, engagement party, or small post-ceremony gathering, that fixed layout works in a couple’s favor. The booths naturally break a group into conversational clusters, the bar area with TVs gives guests something to gather around, and the patio offers overflow space when weather cooperates. Couples planning here should think in terms of a lively pub gathering rather than a seated ballroom reception, since the room is built for dining and drinking, not a formal program.

We worked a reception here and set up in the bar area, where the mix of hard floors and a mounted TV wall gives sound somewhere to bounce, so speaker placement mattered more than volume. The patio, being open air, needed a different approach entirely, and moving between the two spaces over one event is the main technical wrinkle to plan around, since indoor and outdoor sound do not behave the same way in a building like this one.
