The Space
In 1978, two brothers not yet out of their twenties, Bruno and Carlo DeThomasi at ages 19 and 22, opened a bar serving cheesesteak sandwiches in Vineland, eight years after their family immigrated from the Abruzzo region of Italy; that bar became Five Points Inn. What began as a neighborhood bar has grown into a full Italian restaurant, with fresh pasta, ravioli, manicotti and gnocchi made on premise every day, alongside a banquet hall added for weddings and other events.
The banquet room sits on the second floor, above the restaurant, and was recently remodeled with exposed wood beams and light fixtures chosen to update the space without erasing the building’s older bones. Handicapped access to the second floor is provided by a stair lift, a detail worth knowing ahead of time for guests who cannot use stairs. The remodel kept the room’s older character intact, exposed beams overhead rather than a dropped ceiling, so the space still reads as part of the same building the DeThomasi family has run since 1978 rather than a generic hall bolted onto a restaurant.
Capacity & Layout
The banquet hall handles events from 50 up to 200 guests, with sources putting seated capacity at either 150 or 180 depending on layout, a range wide enough to cover an intimate family wedding or a larger reception without moving to a different room. Being a single hall rather than a set of connected rooms, the space works as one continuous ceremony-to-reception flow, so a couple is not managing separate rooms for dinner, dancing and toasts.
Because the hall sits above a working restaurant, the kitchen that supplies fresh pasta downstairs is the same one plating the reception dinner, which keeps food quality consistent between what regular diners get on a Tuesday night and what a wedding party gets on a Saturday. The full bar serves both floors, and the stair lift that carries guests up to the hall is worth planning around for any older relatives in the wedding party.
Amenities
Catering comes from the restaurant’s own kitchen, built around traditional Abruzzese cooking and daily handmade pasta, ravioli, manicotti and gnocchi among it, so a couple gets a specific, personal menu rather than a generic banquet spread. A full bar is available for the reception, and outdoor seating at the restaurant level gives guests a spot for cocktail hour before heading upstairs.
The restaurant itself keeps regular hours through the week, Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays, which means the building stays active and maintained rather than sitting closed between bookings, a small point in favor of a venue that is used constantly rather than only on event days. The DeThomasi family has run the business since they were teenagers themselves, which shows in how personally the venue treats a wedding booking.
Location & Getting There
Five Points Inn sits in Vineland, New Jersey, a family business that has stayed in the same hands and the same building since the DeThomasi brothers opened it in 1978, giving the venue a settled, known-quantity feel for local families booking a wedding there, the kind of place where relatives may already have a favorite table downstairs.
With the banquet hall enclosed on the second floor above a working restaurant kitchen, the room is a contained indoor space with hard floors and beamed ceilings, and a DJ can expect a straightforward indoor setup, running one system for a single room that holds ceremony, dinner and dancing without splitting sound across separate spaces.
