The Space

Twenty acres of working farmland outside Hendersonville hold Events at Green Mountain Farm, where owners Jammie and Erica Woods turned land they had already lived and raised their family on into a wedding venue built around a 3,600 square foot barn with retractable sides. The mountain views and the pond that show up throughout the property weren’t added for the wedding business, they were already there before the venue existed.

A repurposed farm silo does double duty as the bar, standing apart from the barn itself and giving the reception a second built structure to gather around besides the main space. The ceremony site sits outdoors, framed by the same sweeping mountain views and the tranquil pond that show up throughout the property, so the walk from ceremony to reception moves guests across real farmland rather than a manicured lawn built to look like one.

Capacity & Layout

The barn holds up to 250 guests once the retractable sides are open, which turns the space from an enclosed room into something closer to a covered pavilion with farm and mountain views on every side. The venue’s Basic Wedding Package is built around a smaller number, up to 150 guests, which is the more realistic planning figure for a couple choosing standard seating rather than maximum capacity.

That gap between 150 and 250 matters for layout: a couple planning near the smaller number gets more breathing room between tables and a shorter walk to the silo bar and fire pit, while a couple pushing toward 250 will want the sides fully open to keep the barn from feeling packed. Either way, the retractable sides mean the reception can expand or close in depending on the weather and the guest count on the day.

Amenities

Guests get a full day to work with: venue access runs from 9am to 11pm on the wedding day itself, with a one-hour rehearsal built in the day before, which is enough time for a full setup, ceremony, reception and breakdown without racing the clock. The property includes a bridal suite and a separate groom’s room, so both sides of the wedding party have their own space to get ready rather than sharing one room.

Outside the barn, a fire pit gives the evening a natural gathering point once the dancing winds down, and the silo bar, which does not serve hard liquor, keeps the drink menu simple and consistent with the venue’s working-farm character. On-site parking comes with attendants, which takes one more logistical piece off a couple’s list on a day already full of moving parts.

Location & Getting There

The farm sits in Hendersonville, in the mountains of western North Carolina, on 20 acres that the Woods family worked and lived on before opening it to events. The setting itself is the draw for anyone coming from outside the area: sweeping mountain views and a pond that guests walk past on the way between the ceremony site and the barn.

We’ve worked this room, and the retractable sides change how a DJ sets up compared to a fully enclosed barn: with the sides open, sound has room to spread out into the surrounding pasture and mountain air rather than bouncing off barn walls, so coverage and speaker placement matter more than volume, and closing the sides partway on a cooler night tightens the sound back up around the dance floor.
