The Space
Twenty acres of hardwoods surround this barn, and the drive in from the road is long enough that by the time guests reach the gravel parking area, the highway noise is gone and it feels like a private piece of land rather than a venue squeezed between neighbors, with the hardwoods around the property blocking sightlines to any road or house nearby. A renovation in 2018 brought the barn up to a working event space with heating and cooling, so it hosts weddings in January the same as it does in June.
Inside, three large chandeliers hang over 4,500 square feet of open floor, giving the barn a dressed-up feel without losing the exposed structure that makes it read as a barn rather than a converted warehouse. A catering prep room sits off to the side so food service has its own space and doesn’t compete with the dance floor for room.
Capacity & Layout
The barn holds up to 250 guests seated, and because the floor plan is open rather than broken into fixed rooms, that number is flexible: a smaller wedding can pull the tables in tighter and open up a bigger dance floor, while a fuller guest list can spread out to the walls and still keep a clear sightline to the head table.
Outdoors, the ceremony site and the wrap-around patio give couples a separate footprint for vows and cocktail hour before guests move into the barn for dinner, which means the reception setup, including the DJ system, can be finished and tested while the ceremony is still happening outside instead of racing to flip the same room twice.
Amenities
Two separate cabins handle getting ready: the Bridal Cabin has its own vanity space, and the Groom’s Cabin has a pool table, so both sides of the wedding party have somewhere to wait out of view of each other and of arriving guests. Bathrooms on site are fully accessible, and a gravel lot with two drop-off areas and a lit path keeps the walk to the barn manageable after dark.
Getting from the parking area to the barn doesn’t have to be on foot at all: an Arctic Cat Crew 700 ATV is available to shuttle guests who would rather not walk the distance, a real consideration for older guests or anyone in dress shoes on gravel. A full bar is available, and the barn’s own high-definition sound system and portable stage are already in place.
Location & Getting There
Enchanted Acres sits outside Greenwood, South Carolina, on secluded acreage rather than in town, which is the point: the wooded setting is the backdrop, and the drive out is short enough for a South Carolina wedding but far enough to feel removed from daily traffic and neighboring buildings.
We’ve played this barn before, and the enclosed structure with heating and cooling means the room holds sound well without the wind and open-air drop-off that outdoor tents deal with, while the separate outdoor ceremony site and wrap-around patio let cocktail hour run its own audio away from the barn until the reception system inside takes over for dinner and dancing.
