The Space

Elegant Lane sits on a 51-acre farm about 30 miles from Charlotte, built by Brian and Cathy Boze into two separate event spaces rather than one hall sized to fit everyone. The Guthrie, named for Brian’s mother and stepfather, and The Lambert, named for Cathy’s mother, each function as a complete venue with their own ceremony site, so a couple is choosing between two different properties on the same farm, not two rooms in one building.

Cathy spent years traveling to other people’s venues to set up, decorate, and coordinate events before she and Brian decided it made more sense to build their own, and the farm they bought became both spaces, constructed with help from family and friends. That hands-on history shows in details like the bridal suite named Peggy Sue’s Parlor, a space built by people who had already seen what worked and did not work at other venues.

Capacity & Layout

The Guthrie holds up to 200 guests and includes an indoor reception space, a bridal suite, a catering prep kitchen, and an outdoor cocktail area, making it the larger of the two venues and suited to a full-size wedding with room to spread cocktail hour outside the main hall. The Lambert holds up to 70 guests with its own catering prep room, private restroom, and outdoor patio, built for a more intimate gathering rather than a scaled-down version of the Guthrie.

Each space carries its own outdoor ceremony site, so a couple booking either venue is not choosing between an indoor or outdoor ceremony, they get both built in as part of the package. That matters for timeline planning: photography and ceremony can happen outside while catering staff prep inside, with guests moving between the two without leaving the property or losing time to a separate ceremony location.

Amenities

Peggy Sue’s Parlor, the bridal suite inside The Guthrie, includes a professional hair styling chair, a mini fridge, a dressing room, and a seating area, giving a bride real amenities for getting ready rather than a converted office. Both venue spaces include catering staging and prep rooms plus private vendor parking, which keeps catering trucks and vendor equipment away from the guest parking area and out of wedding photos.

Rehearsal dinner space is available at both venues, complete with tables, chairs, and linens and a designated rehearsal time, so a couple can handle their rehearsal dinner on the same property without booking a separate restaurant or hall. Indoor restrooms are built into both spaces, and staff handles guest parking directly, which takes one more logistical piece off a couple’s list on the wedding day itself.

The farm sits about 30 miles from Charlotte, close enough for city guests to make the drive without an overnight stay, while still delivering the open, rural feel of a 51-acre working farm once they arrive. Because each space pairs an indoor hall with its own outdoor ceremony site, a DJ setup typically starts outdoors for the ceremony and then moves indoors for the reception, and the indoor reception spaces in both the Guthrie and the Lambert are enclosed rooms built for that shift, which keeps sound controlled and consistent once the dancing starts, unlike an all-outdoor reception where open air pulls the sound thin.
