The 1,937-acre lake was created in 1916 by the Southern Power Company for hydroelectric generation. Multiple outdoor ceremony spaces offer flexibility: an Oak Amphitheater for large groups, an Arbor for intimate gatherings, the Spider Lily Veranda, and Chestnut Haven. The Jasmine Terrace serves for cocktails and informal gathering, and a spacious patio and dock extend to the water for photography overlooking the reservoir.

Capacity & Layout

The venue accommodates up to 170 seated guests and up to 200 standing, making it well-suited to medium-sized celebrations. It hosts only one event per day, meaning your event has exclusive use of all spaces and grounds, no overlapping setup or breakdown with other parties, no shared facilities or parking coordination with concurrent events.

Two upscale get-ready suites, one for the bride and one for the groom, are furnished for comfort and photography. The ballroom’s grand fireplace serves as a natural focal point for the reception and photographs. The multiple outdoor ceremony areas give flexibility depending on guest count, weather, and the atmosphere you envision.

Amenities

Parking is provided for up to 200 guests in two separate lots positioned to avoid visual impact on the ceremony and reception areas. The venue is ADA accessible with handicap-accessible bathrooms and designated parking. Two hours of engagement or bridal photography time on the grounds are included with your booking, time for photos before the ceremony officially begins, when light and energy are often best.

A certified and insured bartender from the preferred vendor list must be hired, and an off-duty police officer is required during bar service, a detail that speaks to the venue’s professionalism and commitment to guest safety. Catering comes from the preferred vendor list as well, which streamlines vetting and ensures familiarity between venue staff and food service teams. The venue requires event liability insurance (approximately $250 to $280) and a $500 refundable damage deposit. All events must conclude by 11pm to respect the rural neighborhood’s quiet hours.
