The Space
Carrollock Farms began as a family tobacco operation that transitioned through generations. In 2016, recognizing an opportunity and responding to a family member’s post-wedding suggestion, the current owners opened it as a wedding venue. The barn itself is new construction completed in 2016, but the land carries the weight of agricultural history. The ballroom features high, vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan that makes the 240-person space feel generous and unconfined. Chandeliers hang from those vaulted beams, casting warm light across the room and creating visual focal points without obstructing sight lines.
The outdoor ceremony site sits beside a pond fed by a meandering creek, with a white pergola overlooking the water. A fountain sits in the middle of the pond, adding movement and sound to the setting. The combination feels both cultivated and natural, framed by the landscape without feeling overly decorated or artificial. Guests can gather for cocktails on the lawn before moving indoors, or stay outdoors entirely if weather permits.
Capacity & Layout
The barn accommodates up to 240 seated guests for receptions. The high ceilings and open floor plan mean there are no columns to work around and no feeling of crowding even at full capacity. The pergola ceremony site is intimate by design, suitable for groups up to 150 where every guest can see clearly and hear comfortably without mechanical amplification if preferred.
Two get-ready suites are on site, one for the bride and one for the groom, each furnished with upholstered pieces, vanities with makeup lighting, and TV entertainment to keep the wedding party relaxed and comfortable. Parking sits right outside the barn, making arrival and departure straightforward for guests. Linens in black, navy, or white are provided; tables and chairs are included in the rental, one less category to coordinate with outside vendors.
Amenities
A fully licensed bar with professional bartenders and premium liquor is on site, saving you the coordination of bringing in an outside service and ensuring consistent quality and service standards. A dedicated wedding planner is assigned to you and available for unlimited text and email contact throughout planning. Three formal planning meetings are scheduled: an initial detail meeting to establish vision and timeline, a 90-day pre-event meeting to lock in details, and a 30-day meeting for final walkthrough and logistics confirmation.
The venue is ADA compliant with designated handicap parking. Twelve hours of exclusive access to the venue is included, covering your full event window from staff setup through breakdown. This means the site is yours alone, with no other events or activities happening elsewhere on the property during your celebration.
Location & Getting There
Willow Spring sits in Wake County, roughly 15 minutes outside Raleigh and within easy driving distance of RDU International Airport. The area is semi-rural with wooded surroundings and a quiet character, separated from suburban sprawl while remaining convenient for guests traveling from out of state. The route from Raleigh is straightforward via I-40 and local roads.
The barn’s vaulted ceilings and hard surfaces, wood beams, polished concrete flooring, chandelier fixtures, mean sound will carry and reflect readily. A DJ setup works naturally in the central open space, with the dance floor taking visual prominence. The ceiling height provides excellent options for hanging lighting and audio support without feeling cramped or industrial. The outdoor ceremony space under the pergola will benefit from portable sound reinforcement to reach all guests comfortably.
