Mountain Courtyard and Woodland Courtyard both serve as outdoor ceremony sites with mountain views behind the altar, which is the backdrop most couples booking here are actually choosing the resort for.

Capacity & Layout

The Mountain Ballroom holds up to 250 guests, the largest of the three and the room most couples with a full guest list end up in. The Lodge Ballroom and Woodland Ballroom each hold 180, better suited to a mid-sized wedding that still wants a dedicated space rather than a share of a larger room split by pipe and drape.

Across all three rooms the resort has more than 26,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space, which is why Bear Creek can host over 100 weddings a year without couples feeling like they are getting a leftover Saturday slot. Each ballroom connects to its own patio or deck, so cocktail hour naturally flows outside without funneling every guest through one narrow doorway.

With 116 guest rooms and suites on site, a wedding here can function as a real weekend rather than a single evening, with the wedding party and out-of-town guests all sleeping steps from the reception. Dining options on property include The Grille at Bear Creek, Trail’s End Cafe, and The Mountain Eatery, so guests staying multiple nights have somewhere to eat that is not the wedding meal itself.

Open bar service comes included in the resort’s wedding packages, and a dedicated wedding specialist handles coordination, including vendor setup and decor breakdown, which takes a meaningful chunk of day-of logistics off a couple’s plate. The resort also runs a full-service spa with massage and facial services, useful for a bridal party spending the whole weekend on site, and the property earned The Knot’s Best of Weddings recognition in 2023.

Location & Getting There

The resort sits on more than 330 wooded acres in Berks County, close enough to Lehigh Valley International Airport, about 15 miles out, that flying guests are not facing a long drive after they land. The grounds have also hosted large-scale outdoor events beyond weddings, including the first Tough Mudder competition ever run, held on the property in May 2010.

We have played a wedding at Bear Creek and can confirm the property earns its reputation as a year-round destination rather than a seasonal ski lodge that happens to also do events. Sound behaves differently room to room here: the ballrooms are carpeted and acoustically tame, which keeps a DJ setup from fighting echo, while the outdoor courtyards, framed by mountain terrain, carry amplified ceremony sound further than a flat suburban lawn would, so levels for an outdoor ceremony need to be set with that natural amplification in mind.
