The Space

Baucom House is not a converted barn or a built-for-purpose event hall, it is a 1967 ranch-style home that a pair of friends and their families restored in 2023, which shows in details a purpose-built venue would not have: a real kitchen with ceremony-area views, a fireplace room, and a billiards room with a regulation pool table sitting where a family actually used to relax.

The house is split into two wings, which lets a wedding party get ready on opposite sides of the same building without crossing paths before the ceremony, something couples touring the property tend to notice right away. The 14-acre grounds sit inside a much larger stretch of farmland, more than 2,000 acres surrounding the property, so the view in every direction is open field rather than a neighbor’s roofline.

Capacity & Layout

Inside the house alone, capacity tops out at 50 guests, which suits a genuinely small or intimate wedding using the home’s rooms as they exist. Add the 4,000-square-foot outdoor tent and that number rises to 250, the figure most couples booking here are actually planning around, since it lets the ceremony and reception both happen on the property without renting an entirely separate outdoor structure.

The 5,200 square feet of indoor space gives the getting-ready suites, the kitchen, and the fireplace room plenty of room to breathe even before guests arrive, and because the house sleeps 10 to 12 guests overnight across four bedrooms, a couple can treat the wedding weekend as a stay rather than a single-day rental with everyone driving in and out.

Amenities

The main suite includes a lounge, a bar area, a dedicated vanity, and a king-sized bed, built for a bride or groom’s party to actually settle in rather than perch on folding chairs before photos. Beyond the main suite, the first wing also holds three separate bedrooms and its own laundry room, so a larger wedding party has real space to spread out rather than share one dressing area all morning. The second wing’s billiards room with its regulation-sized pool table gives a wedding party somewhere to unwind mid-morning that has nothing to do with hair and makeup stations.

Catering has to come through an approved, licensed, and insured caterer, and a wedding planner or coordinator is required for every event, two rules that shape how a couple staffs their day from the start rather than something they discover mid-planning. Alcohol requires a licensed bartender and, depending on what is served, an ABC permit.

RDU Airport sits about 30 minutes away, and downtown Raleigh is roughly 20 minutes out, close enough for a Raleigh-based guest list but far enough that the farmland setting is not an illusion.
