Aurora Farms in Taylors, South Carolina set the stage for Dan and Riley’s wedding day, and it was one of those events where everything just flowed exactly how you’d hope it would. From the outdoor ceremony under the willow tree to a packed dance floor later in the night, this was a perfect example of how a well-planned timeline and a great venue come together.

Guests began arriving around 4:30 PM to acoustic covers, which fit the setting really well and created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere right from the start. The ceremony took place outside by the willow tree at Aurora Farms, which is easily one of the best features of the property. It gives you that tucked-away, private feel while still being clean and polished. The ceremony music choices kept things personal and intentional, and once the recessional hit, you could feel the energy shift into celebration mode.

Cocktail hour followed right on the patio just outside, which made for a smooth transition. One of the nice things about Aurora Farms is how close everything is laid out. Guests never feel like they’re being moved around too much, and it keeps the momentum of the night going. While guests grabbed drinks and settled in, everything was already being prepped for introductions and the reception inside.

Introductions kicked off at 6:35 PM, bringing everyone together and setting the tone for the rest of the night. Toasts followed shortly after, with a few standout moments that had the whole room locked in. Dinner service started around 7:00 PM, and because everything stayed on schedule, there was no downtime or awkward gaps. That’s one of the biggest things couples don’t always think about, but it makes a huge difference in how the night feels.

After dinner, we moved right into the first dance, followed by parent dances. These moments felt natural and not rushed, which is always the goal. From there, we went straight into the anniversary dance at 8:00 PM, which is always a great way to get more guests involved before opening up the dance floor fully.

By 8:05 PM, it was officially party time. The dance floor filled up fast, and it stayed that way. The music mix hit a wide range, from throwbacks like “Mr. Brightside” and “Shout” to newer hits and singalongs that kept everyone engaged. One note we worked around was keeping the volume slightly lower for comfort, which didn’t take away from the energy at all. If anything, it kept people on the floor longer.

The photo booth was set up inside near the entrance and got steady traffic all night. It was one of those setups where guests kept circling back for “just one more,” especially once dancing was in full swing. Simple, clean, and easy to use, which is exactly what you want.

The vendor team also played a big role in how smoothly everything came together. Ashleigh Howard, who coordinated through Aurora Farms, kept everything on track behind the scenes, and Julia Madden Sears was moving through the day capturing moments without ever slowing anything down. It all felt very dialed in.

As the night wrapped up around 10:00 PM, the final song brought everyone back together one last time before closing things out. No formal exit, just a strong ending with everyone still on the dance floor, which honestly says everything.

If you’re considering Aurora Farms for your wedding, this is exactly the kind of flow you can expect when everything is set up right. The layout, the flexibility, and how easy it is to move from one part of the day to the next makes it a really strong choice for couples who want a smooth, fun, and well-paced wedding.
