The Space
Arran Farm takes its name from the island of Arran in Scotland, ancestral home to owner Daniel Lee’s mother’s family, and that personal history sits underneath a property Daniel and Janice Lee built themselves: a house finished in 1997, a large barn soon after, and, decades later, a chapel. The barn did not start as an event space. It housed animals and old cars before the family’s son Matt got engaged in 2012 and his fiancee Sam asked for a country chic barn wedding, which is what set the barn’s conversion in motion.
The chapel came later and for a different reason: in August 2017, while the farm was hosting an Easley Presbyterian Church rally, the idea to build one took hold, and it was completed in 2018. So the property now holds two distinct buildings with two distinct histories, a working barn turned reception space and a purpose-built open chapel, rather than one hall doing double duty for ceremony and dinner.
Capacity & Layout
Arran Farm has not published a fixed guest capacity for either building, so couples planning a larger wedding should confirm numbers directly with the venue before locking in a guest list. What the layout does make clear is the split: the open chapel, with views out over the farmland, is built for the ceremony, and the barn, with its rustic aesthetic left largely intact from its working days, is built for the reception.
That separation means a couple’s day has a real transition built into it, guests walk from the chapel across the property to the barn, rather than watching staff flip one room between vows and dinner. With 80 acres of land to work with, including a pond and a waterfall on the grounds, there is also room for a couple to plan photos in between the two ceremony and reception spaces rather than rushing straight from one to the other.
Amenities
Parking is described by the venue as ample, which matters on a property this size where guests are arriving by car rather than walking in from a town center. Outside vendors are permitted, so a couple is not locked into a single preferred list for catering, florals, or other services, and pets are allowed on the property as well, a detail that matters to couples who want a dog present for the day.
Both the chapel and the barn offer outdoor cover options, which gives a couple some flexibility if weather turns during the ceremony or reception without needing to rebook an entirely different space. Beyond those points the farm keeps its offerings simple and does not list amenities like a dedicated bridal suite or in-house catering, so couples should plan to bring in the specifics of hair, makeup, and food themselves.
Location & Getting There
The farm sits in Easley, South Carolina, part of the Upstate region near Greenville, on land the Lee family has developed themselves rather than a converted commercial property. The pond and waterfall on site are real landscape features rather than added decoration, and they give guests something to see beyond the two event buildings while they are on the property.
Inside the barn, the surfaces left over from its working life, wood, open framing, a large open floor, carry sound in a live, somewhat reflective way, while the open chapel is a lighter, more exposed structure suited to a shorter ceremony sound system rather than a full reception setup; a DJ working here plans two separate systems for two separate buildings rather than one setup covering both.
