The Space

Vintage Oaks Farm sits on 35 acres outside Ramseur that Debbie Holt bought to keep the land from turning into a subdivision after her parents passed away. The house on the property is roughly 140 years old and was theirs before her. In 2018 Holt built a barn for her own son’s wedding, and after seeing how well the day went, she opened the farm to other couples looking for the same kind of setting.

The farm is still a working one, with long-horned cattle and other animals grazing the fields around the event spaces, so the barnyard feel here is not staged for the occasion. WeddingWire lists the property as a barn, a farm and ranch, and a historic building all at once, which matches what a couple sees walking it: an indoor event center, a covered pavilion, and open acreage shaded by old oak trees.

Capacity & Layout

The indoor event center holds 80 guests seated, and that number sets the ceiling for a reception that stays inside the barn walls. Couples planning a smaller guest list, or one that wants a contained room with weather protection built in, will plan their floor chart around that figure rather than around open pasture that has to be tented or otherwise managed for the day.

For a bigger day, the 40 by 40 covered pavilion seats 100, and it works either as the larger of the two roofed options or as a rain plan for a ceremony that was meant to happen under the oaks. Between the indoor center, the pavilion, and the uncovered grounds, a couple can put a ceremony in one spot and move the reception to another without leaving the property.

Amenities

Get ready rooms are available on site, so the wedding party is not arriving already dressed, and accommodations exist on the property for guests who want to stay close rather than book a hotel and coordinate a shuttle out to the farm. Both matter more here than they would in town, since the nearest lodging options are not necessarily a short drive from a rural property like this one.

The farm is pet friendly, worth knowing early if a couple wants a dog in the ceremony, and wifi is available across the property for vendors who need it during setup. Beyond the amenity list, the working farm itself, with its cattle and other animals grazing nearby, gives the day a backdrop that a couple touring the barn will already recognize from their visit.

Location & Getting There

Vintage Oaks Farm is in Ramseur, set back on acreage that puts real distance between the event spaces and any road noise. The 140 year old house that anchors the property was Holt’s parents’ home before it was anything else, and it is part of what a couple passes on the way from parking to the barn or the pavilion, a reminder of the land’s older history.

We have worked a wedding at Vintage Oaks Farm and set up sound in the covered pavilion, where the open sides and high roofline mean audio has to be aimed rather than left to bounce off close walls; the fully indoor event center behaves more like a typical barn room, with beams and enclosed walls giving a sound system something to work with instead of against.
