The Space

John Henry Sr. and his sons Gary and John Jr. opened the original John Henry’s seafood restaurant in Trenton’s Chambersburg neighborhood back in 1988, and after a decade of catering events off site, John Henry Jr. found a permanent home for the business in 2010. That building started life as the Italian-American Sportsmen’s Club, then operated for years as La Villa, before becoming The Stone Terrace, a history that gives the property real roots rather than a fresh build.

The Russo Room carries that history most directly: it holds the original stone fireplace, the same one in front of which the founders’ grandparents were married, which makes it one of the more personal rooms on the property rather than a generic banquet space. The Anthony Room, the largest ballroom, was added in 2000 with soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, a more modern counterpoint to the Russo Room’s older, intimate character.

Capacity & Layout

The property spreads across 13 distinct spaces, but three do most of the work for weddings: the Anthony Room seats up to 350, the Hamilton Room up to 125, and the Russo Room up to 60, giving couples a genuine range to match their guest list rather than one fixed room size. Standing cocktail events can run up to 500, which matters for a couple planning a larger cocktail hour before moving into a smaller seated dinner.

The Hamilton Room can divide with a sliding barn door, useful for a couple who wants to separate a ceremony or cocktail space from the reception without booking two entirely different rooms. Outdoor ceremonies happen on the Stone Terrace itself, a garden space with a fountain, with indoor ceremony space also available for couples who want a weather backup built in. A Grand Foyer connects the property’s rooms, giving guests a natural gathering point between spaces.

Amenities

We have worked a wedding here before, in a property that includes a newly renovated Bridal Suite with styling stations, integrated Bluetooth speakers, a private restroom, and a full refrigerator, along with a dedicated attendant. A matching Groomsmen Suite offers its own styling stations, an integrated TV, a private restroom, and a lounge setup, giving both sides of the wedding party genuinely comfortable, private space to get ready rather than sharing one room.

Full-service catering runs through Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond packages, and the more complete packages include an on-site coordinator, a personal maitre d’, a five-hour reception, an open bar with house liquor, wine, and beer, a champagne toast, hors d’oeuvres, and a four-course plated dinner. Tables, chairs, and linens come included, and photography access to the grounds is part of the package, which covers most of a wedding’s logistics under one roof.

Location & Getting There

The Stone Terrace sits in Hamilton Township, with on-site parking and valet service available on request, so guests arriving from around Mercer County or further out have an easy time getting in and settled. The venue books weddings, receptions, bridal showers, engagement parties, elopements, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and milestone celebrations, which speaks to a property built to handle a full range of event sizes and formats through the year.

Between the Anthony Room’s soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows and the Russo Room’s older, more enclosed footprint around its stone fireplace, sound behaves differently room to room here. A DJ setup in the larger Anthony Room has height and glass to work with, favoring a fuller sound system, while the Russo Room’s smaller, more intimate space calls for a scaled-down setup that will not overwhelm a room built for close gatherings.
