The Space
Cassidy Grubb, the venue’s owner and event coordinator, built The Ridge Event Venue as a brand new modern barn-style event center in the rural area outside Winston-Salem, marketed as the Triad’s newest premier wedding and event space. At 7,900 square feet total across indoor and outdoor areas, it is a purpose-built venue rather than a converted historic structure, which means everything from the wiring to the sightlines was planned around hosting weddings from the start rather than adapted after the fact.
The building holds a main hall, a bridal suite, a grooms room, an outdoor patio with its own fireplace, two full bars, a catering kitchen, and bathrooms, along with multiple ceremony spots both indoors and out. Sitting 15 minutes from downtown Winston-Salem, it gives a couple a rural setting, open sky, room to spread out, without a long drive for city-based guests, and a new build means fewer of the maintenance quirks that come with older converted barns.
Capacity & Layout
The venue accommodates up to 250 guests, a solid mid-size wedding capacity that fits comfortably in the main hall without feeling like a large space stretched thin or a small one packed too tight. Because the property offers multiple indoor and outdoor ceremony spots, a couple is not locked into one fixed location for vows and can choose the setting that fits the season and the guest count.
The main hall pairs with the outdoor patio and fireplace for a natural flow between an indoor reception and an outdoor cocktail hour or late-night gathering around the fire once dinner winds down. The bridal suite and grooms room, both equipped with vanities, sit on either side of that main hall, so both halves of the wedding party get dedicated space to prepare in without crossing paths before the ceremony.
Amenities
Base venue rental runs from 8am to 10pm, covering both the inside and outside spaces along with the bridal suite and grooms room, and includes tables, chairs, and linens, which removes a whole category of separate rentals for a couple planning the day. Two full bars are built in, one inside and one outside, and the venue is the exclusive bar and drinks vendor for events here.
A catering kitchen is on site, though the venue requires working through its list of top-tier catering partners rather than an open outside-caterer policy, worth confirming early when booking a caterer. Between the two bars and the covered patio fireplace, the venue is set up for a reception that moves fluidly between indoors and out over the course of the evening, cocktails on the patio, dinner and dancing inside, then back out to the fire once the formal part of the night winds down.
Location & Getting There
The Ridge Event Venue sits in a rural setting about 15 minutes from downtown Winston-Salem, giving guests an easy drive without losing the open, barn-style feel of the property, close enough for city guests to reach easily and far enough to feel like a real departure from downtown.
With the reception able to move between the main hall and the outdoor patio through the same evening, and two separate bars anchoring each space, a DJ setup has to plan for sound that reaches both an enclosed barn-style hall and an open patio without losing the room in between.
