The Space
Built in 1938, this barn was part of a working farm long before anyone thought about weddings, and the restoration was deliberately conservative: the building was painted white but otherwise left as it stood, so a couple touring it now is looking at largely the same structure the Royal family has used for more than 80 years. More than 4,000 square feet of flexible event space runs through the interior, finished with hardwood floors and chandeliers hung under the original roofline.
The farm itself has stayed in the same family for over 100 years and is recognized under North Carolina’s Century Family Farm program, an honor reserved for land under continuous agricultural use for at least a century. Across nearly 170 acres, the family still raises black angus cattle, Morgan horses, and hay, and the barn sits in the middle of that working land rather than on a parcel carved off and separated from it.
Capacity & Layout
Seated capacity runs to 225 guests in the barn itself, and the adjoining covered pole shed adds another 200 seats arranged either as 25 round tables or six eight-foot tables, which gives a couple real flexibility on how to split ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception across two distinct covered spaces instead of cramming everything into one room.
Both indoor and outdoor ceremony sites are available on the grounds, so a couple can marry under the barn’s chandeliers or outside with the farm as a backdrop and then move guests into the barn or the pole shed for the reception. A bridal suite is available on site, giving the wedding party a private space to prepare before the day gets underway, which keeps the getting-ready hours off the barn floor entirely while the room is being flipped for the reception.
Amenities
The family decided to convert the barn into a wedding and event venue in 2018, which means the space has been actively hosting weddings for several years now rather than sitting as a brand-new, untested room. The pole shed functions as a covered outdoor option, useful for cocktail hour or an overflow reception space without depending entirely on open-air seating.
Weddings run from March through Thanksgiving each year, which sets the season a couple is working within when they pick a date here. Because the venue sits on active farmland with cattle and horses still on the property, the setting stays genuinely working rather than manicured, which is part of what couples are choosing when they book a farm venue instead of a built-for-purpose event hall.
Location & Getting There
The barn sits on rolling farmland in Randolph County, in Trinity, North Carolina, an area of open hills rather than dense development, which shapes both the drive out and the photographs once you are there. That open countryside is also what keeps the property working as a cattle and horse farm year-round, not just on wedding weekends.
We have set up for a reception in the barn, and the hardwood floors and open interior under the original roofline carry sound cleanly across the room, while the covered pole shed next door is a more open-air space that needs speakers positioned to reach the edges rather than relying on walls to hold the sound in.
