The Space
One Thirteen Brewhouse + Rooftop Bar opened March 10, 2021, in the former Greene Street Club building in downtown Greensboro, after owner Toby Leasure, also a partner in Craft & Vine in Oak Ridge, spent most of the prior year gutting and remodeling the space. The result is a 20,000-square-foot, four-story building built around nightlife and live music rather than a purpose-built event hall.
Each floor has its own identity and its own bar, four in total, so a wedding here is really a choice among four distinct rooms rather than one space rented for the day. The first floor centers on a large stage built for live music, with a custom bar behind a glass garage door that opens to the street, giving the ground level an open, street-facing energy that most rented event spaces do not have.
Capacity & Layout
The second floor holds a Bourbon and Whiskey Bar along with a private room that can be reserved separately, positioned to overlook the first floor stage below, which makes it a natural spot for a smaller reception or a rehearsal dinner that still feels connected to the energy downstairs. Couples planning a bigger night can use the first floor’s stage and open bar area for dancing.
The third and fourth floors are open-air rooftop spaces with views over downtown Greensboro, well suited to a cocktail hour or an after-party once the sun goes down. Because the four floors function somewhat independently, a couple can move guests through distinct spaces over the course of an evening rather than staying in one room all night, starting downstairs, moving up to the whiskey bar for cocktails, and finishing under the open sky.
Amenities
Four full bars, one per floor, mean drink service never has to travel far from wherever guests have gathered, whether that is the ground floor stage or the rooftop. The first floor’s glass garage door opening to the street gives the space an open-air feel even indoors during warmer months.
The reserved private room on the second floor comes with its own bar downstairs in the same building, so a couple booking that space still has full building amenities available rather than a stripped-down side room. Because the venue already operates as a working bar with a built-in stage and sound setup, the infrastructure for live music and a DJ is part of the building, not something trucked in.
Location & Getting There
The building sits in downtown Greensboro, in the same footprint as the former Greene Street Club, a location guests who have been downtown before will likely already recognize. Its rooftop views mean photos naturally include the downtown skyline without a separate trip to a lookout point.
Being downtown puts the venue within easy reach of other Greensboro hotels and restaurants for a wedding weekend built around multiple stops. With a built-in stage on the first floor and open-air rooftop levels above it, sound behaves very differently by floor: the ground floor stage is built to carry a full band or DJ set indoors, while the third and fourth floor rooftops are open to the outside air, so a DJ setup there works best with speakers aimed at the crowd rather than relying on walls to hold the sound in.
