The Space

Oakland Farm exists because of one wedding. In 2015, O.A. Buddy Keller broke ground on the barn specifically to create a venue for his oldest granddaughter’s wedding, and the property welcomed its first guests through the barn doors on October 10 of that year. That origin still shapes the place: it was built as a real wedding venue from day one, not converted from a working structure that used to hold something else entirely.

The barn itself is heated and cooled, with exposed wood, a rustic stone fireplace, and an antler chandelier overhead, so it reads as finished and warm rather than a bare farm structure. In 2017 the property added a covered pavilion built specifically for outdoor ceremonies, and the farmhouse on site looks out over pastures where horses and Galloway cattle still graze, keeping the working farm visible from the reception.

Capacity & Layout

The barn holds up to 250 seated guests on its own, with the covered pavilion offering additional room for cocktail hour or overflow, so a couple can plan a mid to large wedding without splitting the day across buildings that do not connect. Two patios sit off the barn for cocktail hour, giving guests somewhere to be while the reception space turns over between ceremony and dinner.

Getting ready happens inside the barn itself, in a wedding party suite with its own private restroom, while a commercial prep kitchen next door, complete with landing tables, a three compartment sink, an ice maker, two refrigerators, and two food warmers, handles catering without a separate tent or trailer. The farmhouse, a two story four bedroom home that sleeps up to ten, adds overnight space with a wraparound porch for the morning of the wedding.

Amenities

The barn is handicap accessible with parking provided directly in front, a detail that matters on a rural property where guests might otherwise be walking a long distance from a field. Outside caterers are permitted, but the on-site catering option and the fully equipped prep kitchen mean a couple is not required to bring in every piece of equipment themselves.

The pavilion gives the property real weather flexibility since ceremonies and cocktail hour can move under cover without losing the outdoor feel, and the tables and chairs included in the rental can be arranged into whatever formation the layout calls for, from rounds to long farm tables. That flexibility carries through both the barn interior and the covered outdoor space.
