The Space

Oakbrook Farm began as a family’s private retreat before it became a wedding venue. The owners moved to this 75 acre property in 2011 with their four children and horses, and what started as their own gatherings on the land slowly turned into a place where other couples could marry. The farm still functions as a working equestrian property, with rolling fields, quiet woods, and a private lake spread across the acreage.

The barn anchors the property, and above it sits a finished loft apartment built out for the bridal party, complete with its own bathroom, kitchen, and bed. That loft means the wedding party can arrive early, get ready, and even stay overnight without leaving the grounds. Horse riding lessons are also offered here, a detail that reflects how much of daily life on the farm still revolves around the animals rather than the events calendar.

Capacity & Layout

Couples choosing Oakbrook have five separate ceremony areas to pick from, spread across the open fields and wooded sections of the property, so a first look, a formal ceremony backdrop, and a private moment for photos can each happen in a different spot without competing for the same patch of grass. The barn, the pavilion beside it, and the lawn areas around the lake all work as reception space depending on the size and feel of the day.

The venue’s furniture package is built for a full reception without extra rentals: 200 mahogany wood folding chairs, 24 white round tables, 8 highboy cocktail tables, six eight foot banquet tables, six six foot banquet tables, whiskey barrels, and wood farm tables. Getting ready happens in two separate spaces, a bridal suite with four hair and makeup stations and a standalone groomsman suite, so both sides of the wedding party have their own room and their own mirror time that morning.

Amenities

Cooler months and evening receptions are covered by the outdoor infrastructure Oakbrook has built in: eight propane heaters, two fire pits, a propane heated pavilion, and a second fireplace built into the pavilion itself. That combination means a reception can move outside after dinner, or run entirely under the pavilion, without the temperature deciding the night is over early.

The wedding day at Oakbrook runs from 9am to 11pm, with music required to be off by 9:45pm, so vendors and the couple both know the outer edges of the timeline before the day starts. A parking attendant directs guests on arrival, which matters on a working farm where the driveway and parking areas share space with pastures and outbuildings.

Oakbrook sits outside Ridgeway, South Carolina, just minutes from Columbia, close enough for guests to reach easily but far enough out that the property reads as open countryside rather than a suburban lot. The rolling fields, the tree line, and the private lake give photographers a genuine rural backdrop rather than a staged one.

For a DJ, the split between barn, pavilion, and open lawn means sound has to be planned around three different surfaces: the enclosed barn holds volume well for dancing, the pavilion is open air but covered, and the lakeside lawn areas need equipment that can run independent of a building entirely, which shapes where speakers and a booth get placed for each part of the day.
