The Space
Molos took over a well-known address in 2013, the same waterfront spot on the Hudson that had operated for years as Arthur’s Landing before closing in 2009. The two-story building sits directly on the river at Port Imperial in Weehawken, and floor-to-ceiling windows on both levels put the Manhattan skyline, the Empire State Building, the Freedom Tower, and the Verrazano Bridge in view from nearly every seat.
The main dining room centers on a hand-crafted Venetian marble bar and a custom fish display, the kind of detail that comes from a restaurant built around whole fish and tableside preparation like flamed saganaki rather than a banquet hall converted for the night. This is a room our DJs have set up in before, and it reads as a working restaurant with a view, not a rental space dressed up to look like one.
Capacity & Layout
The Main Dining Room holds up to 150 seated or 180 for a cocktail-style event, which makes it the room for a mid-size wedding that wants both a formal dinner and open floor space afterward. Upstairs, the Skyview Room seats up to 80 and looks out over the same skyline from a more private, second-floor vantage, suited to a smaller ceremony dinner or a rehearsal gathering.
The outdoor deck adds up to 70 seated or 100 standing for cocktail hour on the pier itself, though it is not available for private events on weekend evenings, so a couple planning a Friday or Saturday wedding should build cocktail hour around that restriction rather than assume the deck is open. Private dining overall runs from 10 to 185 guests, giving a couple real range depending on which combination of rooms they book.
Amenities
The full bar pours wines from Greece, France, Italy, and America alongside a full cocktail list, and weekday happy hour runs 4 to 7pm for anyone arriving early. In-house catering handles the event with a preset menu required for private dining, so a couple is working from the kitchen that already runs the restaurant rather than coordinating an outside vendor.
A 25 percent deposit secures the date and space, and evening events carry a food and beverage minimum that varies by date, while daytime brunch or lunch events require a minimum of 50 adults. Free parking is available in a lot directly across the street at Port Imperial, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible throughout both floors.
Location & Getting There
Molos sits at Port Imperial, reachable by car with free parking across the street, or by NY Waterway ferry and Light Rail directly to the Port Imperial stop, which gives guests coming from Manhattan a way in that skips the tunnel and bridge traffic entirely. That river crossing is part of the experience for a New York-based guest list, arriving by boat to a wedding with the skyline as the backdrop.
Between the Main Dining Room’s marble bar and hard flooring and the Skyview Room’s more contained upstairs footprint, sound behaves differently room to room, and a DJ working here needs to know which floor the reception occupies well before setup. The outdoor deck, being open to the river, calls for equipment suited to an exposed space rather than the enclosed acoustics of the dining rooms indoors.
