The Space
Built in 1908 as the Majestic Mill, this building spent decades as a hub of employment for Belmont families before its second life began. It later operated as Bisque Imports for about ten years, and in 2013 CJ and Emory Vandiver converted it into the Catawba River Antique Mall, the same couple who went on to open Majestic Mill Weddings on the property in 2015.
A 10,000-square-foot addition followed in 2019, built specifically to give the venue the upscale, industrial look couples were asking for, wood details and open ceilings layered onto the mill’s original bones. The wedding venue and the antique mall, with its 300-plus vendor booths, share the same historic property in downtown Belmont, close to the Catawba River, so guests arriving for a wedding are walking into the same mill building that has anchored the town’s employment and commerce for over a century.
Capacity & Layout
Regal Hall is the main reception room, with red-brick walls, polished maple floors, and Edison-style lighting carrying the industrial character of the original mill into the event space. A separate traditional chapel, hung with chandeliers, is built specifically for ceremonies, so a couple isn’t converting one room from ceremony to reception mid-event.
Together the spaces accommodate 50 to 300 guests, a range wide enough to cover an intimate ceremony in the chapel through a large reception filling Regal Hall. Two getting ready suites sit on site, and a separate outdoor cocktail space with patio furniture and shade gives the day a fourth distinct setting beyond the chapel and the hall. That spread of dedicated spaces, chapel, hall, suites, and outdoor cocktail area, means each part of the day has its own room rather than one space repurposed three times over.
Amenities
Furnishings are already built into the rental: tables, Chiavari chairs, a custom LOVE cake table, ceremony arbors, a stage, industrial cocktail tables, a settee in front of a custom mural wall, a custom wood bar, and a set of 100-year-old church pews. That list covers most of the pieces a couple would otherwise be renting separately from an outside vendor.
The property includes a handicap ramp and two women’s, one men’s, and one handicap restroom, and private lot parking is available on site. Because the venue and the antique mall share the same historic building, the mill’s original character, brick, wood, and reclaimed pieces like the church pews, shows up throughout the event spaces rather than being layered on as decoration. Our DJs have set up in Regal Hall before, so the room’s acoustics and the outlet placement along the brick walls are already familiar going into a wedding here.
Location & Getting There
The venue sits in downtown Belmont, close to the Catawba River, about one mile from Interstate 85 and less than ten minutes from Charlotte Douglas Airport, an easy drive for both local guests and family flying in. That river-adjacent, downtown setting keeps the venue walkable to the rest of Belmont’s historic district.
With Regal Hall’s brick walls and maple floors fully enclosed, and the separate chapel and outdoor cocktail space giving the day room to move between settings, a DJ setup in Regal Hall works a hard-surfaced, high-ceilinged room built for sound to carry across polished floors and exposed brick, distinct from the softer, chandelier-lit chapel used strictly for ceremony.
