The Space
Humble Pie operated out of a restaurant building on Harrington Street in Raleigh’s Warehouse District for years before closing. The dining room had a distinctive green checkered floor, twinkling market lights strung overhead, and a brick facade that gave the space a lived-in, neighborhood-restaurant character rather than a purpose-built event hall dressed up to look older than it was. That long run is the kind of longevity that only comes from a restaurant that locals actually returned to, not a venue built for one-off events.
Attached to the dining room was a spacious covered patio, lit with romantic string lights and set among lush landscaping, often described as one of the best covered patios and tiki bars in Raleigh. Together the two spaces gave a couple an indoor dining room and an outdoor patio bar on the same property, each with its own distinct feel, so a reception could move guests between a warmer indoor dinner room and a looser, string-lit outdoor bar scene over the course of one night.
Capacity & Layout
The venue held 5,300 square feet of total event space. Winter capacity ran to 100 guests and summer capacity to 120, a seasonal swing that reflected how much of the patio could realistically be used depending on the weather. A couple planning a winter wedding here would have been working with a smaller number of usable seats than one planning for summer, since the patio’s extra capacity only really applied once the weather cooperated and guests could comfortably sit outside for a full reception.
The rental fee ran from $8,000 to $10,000 for a four-hour reception, reflecting a venue built around a single dining room and patio combination rather than multiple interchangeable event spaces, priced for a tight, focused timeline rather than an all-day buyout. That four-hour window meant a couple booking Humble Pie was planning a reception with a defined start and end rather than a full-day rental that included hours of setup and breakdown built into the rate.
Amenities
As a working restaurant rather than a dedicated event hall, Humble Pie’s amenities centered on the space itself rather than a long list of add-ons. The checkered dining room floor, the market lighting, and the exposed brick facade did the work indoors, while the string-lit, landscaped patio and tiki bar carried the outdoor half of a reception, standing in for the more common combination of a rented tent and a separate string-light package.
Humble Pie has closed after years of service, and no additional amenity details beyond the space itself are part of the record, so this page reflects what the venue offered while it was open rather than what remains bookable today.
Location & Getting There
The building sat in Raleigh’s Warehouse District, a downtown location that put guests within walking distance of other Warehouse District bars and restaurants for anyone extending the night after the reception wound down, without needing a car or a rideshare to keep the evening going.
Because Humble Pie has closed, we have not worked a reception there, but the combination of an indoor dining room with hard floors and brick and a separate, more open-air covered patio would have meant a DJ setup could either stay contained to the dining room’s harder acoustics or move sound out under the patio’s lighter, open-sided cover.
