Inside a century-old commercial building in downtown Statesville, Grace Wedding & Event Center occupies two full floors, and that layout is the first thing you notice touring it. Hardwood floors run through the reception level, where a grand stage anchors one end and a white bar with white columns lines the room. Customizable lighting lets the space shift from soft and warm during dinner to something brighter for dancing later, without anyone bringing in extra equipment.

Joshua and Carlyn opened this location in 2011 and ran nearly every part of it themselves in the early years, which shows in how deliberately the space is arranged now. The white columns and stage give photographers a built-in backdrop, so portraits during dinner or the first dance do not depend on outside decor being trucked in. A second Grace venue operates in Gastonia, so the team behind this Statesville room has run the same kind of day, in the same kind of building, many times over and refined the layout accordingly.

Capacity & Layout

Grace seats and stands guests from as few as 50 up to 300, a wide enough range that a couple planning an intimate dinner and a couple planning a large reception both fit comfortably in the same room without it reading as too full or too empty. The ceremony room sits upstairs, separate from the reception space below, so vows happen in one setting and dinner and dancing happen in another.

That upstairs and downstairs split matters for planning: guests climb once for the ceremony, then move down to a room already set for reception, which means the space does not need to be flipped between the two events while everyone waits. With capacity up to 300 downstairs, a band, buffet lines, and a dance floor around the stage can all be laid out without crowding the white bar or the columns that frame the room. A smaller guest count near the lower end of that range still reads comfortably, since the stage and bar anchor the room rather than requiring it to be filled edge to edge.

Amenities

Bar service, catering, event staff, and clean-up are all included in what Grace provides, a meaningful amount of budget and coordination lifted off a couple’s plate compared with venues that require booking each of those separately. A dressing room functions as the bridal suite for getting ready before the ceremony upstairs.

The venue is wheelchair accessible and offers WiFi throughout, both practical for older relatives and for anyone livestreaming the ceremony for family who cannot travel. Because catering and bar are handled in-house, a couple’s outside vendor list narrows mostly to photography, florals, and music, which simplifies the day-of schedule considerably. Having clean-up included also means the wedding party can leave once the reception ends rather than staying behind to break down tables and haul out rented decor.

The venue sits in historic downtown Statesville, in a building whose character comes from the neighborhood around it rather than from a purpose-built event campus. Grace’s other location in Gastonia gives the ownership team a second data point for what works in a historic downtown room, and Statesville benefits from that shared experience.
