The Space

Folino Estate is a 54-acre winery and event venue that opened in November 2015 on land purchased in 2000. The main building is a 17,000-square-foot structure designed to resemble a Tuscan villa. More than 14 acres of the property are planted as vineyard (over 23,500 vines), the first planted in 2014. The estate also includes La Cucina Cafe (the on-site Italian restaurant), a tasting lounge, gift shop, and event spaces. The Pinot Grigio Room and Chianti Room serve as the primary event halls. An outdoor gazebo sits alongside the vineyard and features a waterfall, providing a ceremony site with the vineyard as backdrop. If weather requires, ceremonies move indoors.

The barn-style main building evokes Italian countryside architecture and sits at the center of the working vineyard. The barrel room, which houses 400 active barrels of wine, can also serve as an event space, creating an intimate, authentic winery atmosphere. The property is a working operation (wine production, restaurant service), not a static venue, so the energy and activity of a family-run winery infuses the space.

Capacity & Layout

The Pinot Grigio Room seats 130 guests. When expanded to include the Chianti Room, capacity reaches 220 seated. The two event rooms can be used separately or in combination. The outdoor gazebo ceremony site overlooks the vineyard and can accommodate groups at varying scales. On-site parking includes spaces for guest vehicles, with valet attendants available if desired. The bridal suite is available three hours before and 30 minutes after the event. The property can host only one wedding per day.

The venue is completely handicap accessible. Room access is available as early as 10am on the wedding day, and all decor must be removed the same evening. Children of all ages are welcome; those under 13 receive a children’s menu at a discounted rate, and children under 2 dine free.

Amenities

A four-hour open bar is included in wedding packages, serving estate wine, beer, and liquor. In-house catering is mandatory; no outside caterers allowed except for wedding cakes, which may be provided externally. Menu options span traditional and Italian cuisine. Elegant ivory tablecloths, sandstone napkins, gold chargers, silver flatware, and stemware are included. The bridal suite offers private space. The barrel room with 400 barrels can host events if couples prefer the intimate, wine-focused atmosphere. The property’s status as a working winery means Folino Estate wine is served at weddings, creating continuity between the venue and the celebration itself.

Certificate of Liability Insurance is required from all outside vendors. A $3,000 deposit is required to book the wedding date. Military veterans or active service members receive a 5% discount on wedding packages. The venue was named PA Wine Invitational Winery of the Year in 2025.

Kutztown is in Berks County, Pennsylvania, approximately 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia and 90 miles north of Baltimore. The drive from Philadelphia runs 75 to 90 minutes via Route 422. The setting is Pennsylvania wine country, rolling terrain in the Berks County landscape. The vineyard backdrop and rural setting distinguish the venue from suburban or urban options. The property’s Italian architectural style and working vineyard create a sense of escape without requiring a distant destination. The main event rooms feature controlled interior acoustics (17-foot ceilings, solid construction) where a DJ can manage volumes precisely and coordinate with on-site catering staff. The gazebo ceremony site is outdoor and exposed, so sound carries naturally across the vineyard landscape.
