The Space
The oldest known building in Hampton, New Jersey dates to 1685, and today it operates as the Farmhouse, a wedding venue built around that three-century-old structure. Details like the stonework in the fireplaces back that history up directly: the stone was carried over as ballast in European ships to steady them on the transatlantic crossing. The property sits on 10 acres of manicured gardens under towering oak trees that have had over three centuries to grow into the landscape.
Two distinct event spaces sit on the grounds. The Grand Ballroom holds reclaimed barn wood, vintage fixtures, wide-plank floors, crystal chandeliers and a stone fireplace, all built around a room that seats up to 265 guests. The Silo is a separate, equestrian-inspired craftsman barn, actually a Pennsylvania barn restored and reconstructed on this site, with exposed wood beams, a wood-burning fireplace and a dramatic mezzanine level overlooking the floor below.
Capacity & Layout
The Grand Ballroom’s 265-guest capacity and The Silo’s 170-guest capacity give a couple two real choices depending on wedding size, rather than one room stretched to fit every guest list. Standing capacity across the property runs up to 300 for a seated dinner format or 350 cocktail-style, numbers that matter for a couple weighing a formal seated reception against a more casual standing one.
Ceremonies can be held outdoors across the estate’s scenic grounds, past the Kissing Tree and the 19th-century Schoolhouse, or indoors in either event space, so weather does not force a single fallback plan. The mezzanine level in The Silo also gives that room a second sightline, useful for a couple who wants guests to be able to look down on the dance floor from above during the reception.
Amenities
Catering is included on-site, with outside caterers welcome for select events, which gives a couple some flexibility without losing the convenience of an in-house team as the default. Bar service includes premium liquor, and the venue is fully accessible throughout, so the property’s centuries-old bones have been fitted with modern access rather than left as a barrier for guests who need it.
A bridal suite is available for getting ready, and the grounds include a white gazebo for outdoor ceremonies in the scenic gardens, giving the property a defined outdoor focal point separate from the Kissing Tree. Pets are welcome for the ceremony and photos, which is a real, specific detail rather than a general pet-friendly claim, and parking is described as ample, so guest capacity on the ground matches the room capacities inside.
Location & Getting There
The Farmhouse sits in Hampton, New Jersey, on 10 acres that have carried the property’s oak trees and gardens for generations, and its age, dating to 1685, makes the drive in feel less like arriving at a wedding venue and more like arriving at a historic property that happens to host weddings.
We have worked this venue, and the two event spaces sound noticeably different from each other: the Grand Ballroom’s wide-plank floors and crystal chandeliers carry sound in a more open, reflective way, while The Silo’s exposed wood beams and mezzanine level change how sound moves vertically as well as across the room, so a DJ has to treat the two rooms as genuinely separate acoustic setups rather than one interchangeable space.
