The Space
Dennis Vineyards was founded in 1997 by Pritchard Dennis and his wife Lynda after discovering their passion for wine during a 1970s trip to Spain. The property sits on 44.72 acres in Albemarle, North Carolina, with 11.94 acres of grape vines producing muscadine wine, the native grape of the South. The winery made national news for having the highest antioxidant and Resveratrol content of any commercially available winery according to a Purdue University study. Sandon Dennis, the founders’ son and a UNC Charlotte business graduate, is the sole winemaker and has led the operation to become Stanly County’s oldest vineyard.
The event facility, called A Place in the Vineyard, spans roughly 3,150 square feet as a ballroom featuring striking iron chandeliers and exposed wood beams. Three ceremony sites are available: a gazebo by the pond, beneath mature pecan trees, and on a covered patio. A 2,000-square-foot covered patio serves cocktail receptions with vineyard views. The facility hosted over 800 weddings and receptions as well as over 100 social events and festivals, showing its proven track record and venue operators’ experience with celebration.
Capacity & Layout
The ballroom seats 200 guests and stands 250. Ceremony and reception can be split across the three ceremony sites and the covered patio, with dinner in the ballroom. The gazebo by the pond offers a natural, romantic ceremony setting. The mature pecan grove provides an open-air alternative with scattered shade. The ballroom accommodates both dancing and dinner.
A full on-site catering kitchen supports food service. The adjacent vineyard landscape means minimal additional decoration is needed to create atmosphere, though iron chandeliers and exposed beams inside provide architectural interest on their own.
