The Space

Minerals Hotel sits inside Crystal Springs Resort in the Kittatinny Mountains of northwestern New Jersey, about 60 miles and roughly an hour from New York City. The resort operates year round, so a couple can plan a winter mountain wedding or a summer one on the same property. The centerpiece is the Diamond Ballroom, described as New Jersey’s largest and newest resort ballroom at nearly 11,000 square feet, one part of more than 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space on the grounds.

Reception options are not limited to one room. The Diamond Ballroom handles a full formal reception, the Wedding Garden is set aside for ceremonies, and the Sweetgrass Pavilion offers a more casual outdoor alternative for couples who want their reception in the open air. We have worked a wedding in this building before, so we know how the flow moves between these spaces across an evening.

Capacity & Layout

The Diamond Ballroom seats up to 225 guests, which is the number a couple should plan their guest list around if the ballroom is their reception room. Because the resort’s total event space runs past 30,000 square feet and is built to handle groups from 10 up to 500 or more, a smaller wedding does not feel lost in an oversized room, and a larger one has room to grow into the Wedding Garden or Sweetgrass Pavilion for cocktail hour or an after-party.

The property is ADA-compliant at its main entrance and accessible throughout, which matters on a wedding day when grandparents, wedding party members, or guests using wheelchairs need to move easily between the ceremony site and the ballroom. On-site parking means guests are not managing a shuttle or a distant lot on top of finding the right building among a large resort campus.

Amenities

Anyone staying overnight gets access to the hotel’s sports club at no extra charge: seven indoor and outdoor heated pools, a sauna, a steam room, an indoor running track, tennis, racquetball and basketball courts, and a 6,000-square-foot fitness center. For a wedding weekend, that means the morning after the reception has something for guests to do before checkout instead of an empty lobby. Kites Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, with poolside dining in season and other restaurant options across the resort.

The Elements Spa is on site, useful for a bridal party that wants a morning-of appointment without leaving the property, and a full bar is available for the reception itself. Golfers in the wedding party have access to the resort’s own 9-hole Minerals course plus six additional resort courses, and with 175 to 200 guest rooms and condominium units on site, a couple can block enough rooms to keep the whole group under one roof for the weekend.

Location & Getting There

Minerals Hotel is roughly 60 miles and about an hour from New York City, and about the same drive from Newark Liberty International Airport, which keeps travel manageable for out-of-town guests flying in. Guests coming from JFK or LaGuardia should plan on closer to an hour and a half. Being a four-season resort, the mountain scenery around the property changes with the calendar, so photos taken here look different in October than they do in June.
